I am very happy with how much I have improved in the past few weeks. I'm actually proud of it. My channel is starting to feel like a real clip channel. But, yesterday was just self practice. I was learning about chroma keys, masking, and practicing syncing separate audio and video tracks. I only even shared it because I use my Twitter as a bit of a mini blog now.

I used to feel the same.
However, after having seen how much effort Bea and the Dads put on their projects, now I like to think that just because there's somebody better than me at something, that doesn't mean that I automatically suck.
Now I feel more motivated than ever because of Bea and (You) Dads.

If you do it everyday you WILL get better, but progress is almost always slow and your day to day improvement is almost never perceptible. Never get complacent. Always push yourself to do more challenging things, always strive for improvement.

Also, the most important thing is to remember that art shouldn't be something that makes you suicidal (haha I don't speak from experience or anything haha), but if you can make it a daily habit then even the low points stop feeling like huge ordeals and just become another stepping stone to improvement. I keep track of everything I draw (with N° of day, month and year) and after a year I noticed that I did improve a lot (i'm still not good though), I usually only see mistakes upon mistakes in my drawings so I was surprised. Do you do daily gesture drawings? Good way practice drawing basic forms and improve your visual library in little time. Or if you don't mind an outlandish approach, you could learn 3d, even if you're primarily interested in just 2D art.
