Thanks to your encouragement I started with my Nihongo learning journey!
DAY 7: I've not learned anything new today but I'm still smiling! I didn't have time for it cause I went to the gym and after that had to catch up to 3h of superchat stream from yesterday plus today's stream was in the earlier time slot. I did a few quick practices during the day with characters I've learned (https://djtguide.github.io/learn/kana.html with all fonts enabled, except the last "tricky" one) and I've just got 100/100 for the first time during the superchat reading after Holocure stream!
I enjoyed this stream mainly cause I played a lot of Holocure about 8 months ago. I've upgraded all of the shop and unlocked all holomembers but then got bored and didn't touch the game till now. I'll probably update it tomorrow when new big update gets released. Idk if I'll play as much as I used to, Nihongo takes prioriti
I'm excited for 3 streams in a single day tomorrow! I won't understand anything during the JP Q&A one, but I'll watch it anyway. I'll remember that stream and I'll come back to it after a year of learning to see if there's some improvements (I've marked day 365 in my notes).

I think something cool that I've seen someone else suggest is doing something akin to Cho'gaal from Heart of the Storm if you guys have tried that out. Basically it's a two-headed ogre that one person controls the movement and gets some of the abilities of while a second player controls the rest of the attacks. Little Witch's gameplay is probably some of the most fun I've had with VN's. I haven't played a ton, but to add to that there's a lot of girls to choose from, some good replayability, and it rewards you for actually thinking about how to use your time and your abilities during the dice minigame to the point that if you don't figure out some cheese strats on your own, you'll be fucked out of some number of endings.

mahoutsukai no yoru is a vn where the main character is aoko aozaki, who would probably be most known from being a playable character in melty blood, which is a fighting game based around tsukihime. i think mahoutsukai was actually the first thing nasu wrote, as a normal novel, but it didn't do very well. but it got remade as the visual novel you got off steam.

I love Tsukihime, I was so excited for the remake even though I didn't have to wait as long as others since I first read the VN in like 2015-2016 on my high-school netbook. Sadly I haven't been able to do anything with the new VN since it's JP only and will be for some years, unless mahoyo is going to be the first and only officially translated Type-Moon VN, in which case I'll probably never get to enjoy it.

Nah MAL is terrible but you can look and see on vndb what has been translated and what people have read and rated highly. Most of its reddit tier now I'm sure but 10-12 years ago this was a fine method. Typically you find a studio or scenario author you like and read a lot of their stuff from my experience. I'm a suckered for those earlier nitro+ titles and eushully games personally but I know that's not for everyone.

Turns out the one I got a few hours into was the Amaterasu version. Only reason I say it reads like a schizophrenic mess is because the person translating painstakingly describes every cultural relevant joke in great detail so it feels like there's a shit ton of in-head thinking from the MC.
I did learn that there was an old tradition to give girls who just got their first period red bean rice as a celebration, which is a weirdly deep bit of info that I had never heard of prior.
As for FuwaMoco because I've shit the thread up enough, I really hope at some point they just do a stream where they talk about some of their favorites and why they like them so much. It would be fun to hear in detail what made them enjoy the games they so passionately play.
