Of course, apex is not the only problem, but if you've watched her numbers over the past year, the trend is clear. After each fall into the apex, it was more and more difficult to return the numbers commensurate to other members. It's obvious how the algorithm works. When 1.5k people come to the stream, a comparable number of people will see the cover on the main page. And in the end I can only speak for myself: I am ready to watch any niche and shitty game while it is being streamed by matsuri, but not for a year and a half and not 4 tournaments in 1.5 months. Especially when you consider how the quality of these streams differs from any others. So yes, the apex is not the only problem, but in my opinion the biggest one. Keeping in mind its matchmaking is complete trash at times, I really enjoy the games where things are evenly matched.
Though I also enjoy the stomp on occasion, though now that arena is out I prefer more evenly matched games there. If ranked ever decides to come out that could be a real joy.

She's been making some very cute noises throughout the whole stream, you can hear how much she's into the game lol. Glad she has a game she's enthusiastic about but... I do wish she could find the same enthusiasm and passion for perhaps another game for even a while.

Maybe I'm overanalyzing things (very likely in fact), but she hasn't seemed this happy, passionate and enthusiastic about any game she's played recently. Just what I've noticed, she seems to be genuinely enjoying herself like 5x more when she plays Apex compared to any other game. And I'm not taking that away from her, it's great she has something she's really into, but I'm just worried that even during this "less streams period" she's actually not very much enjoying streaming other games and getting even more stressed or something.
The last game she seemed quite into was Danganronpa, so not too long ago though. (Only talking about games btw, zatsus and utawakus have stayed very much the same)

It's actually the best battle royale as far as I'm concerned. I'm a huge CS TF2 Quake nerd so I never really liked any BRs until Apex, which really changed my mind on the genre so I think that kind of speaks for itself. The movement is fluid and fun to control, aiming has a nice cs vibe with recoil control but with ADS. All guns are actually viable unlike many other FPS or BRs.
What really sells Apex for me these days is EVO shields. Best mechanic in the game imo, as it greatly removes the rng factor of finding or looting superior armor when you can advance it yourself as long as you're good enough to do it. I probably wouldn't play if there weren't EVOs honestly.

I don't think she'll attempt to dive into any story-rich game until she has plenty of free time to focus on them, but seeing as she's got her bday preparations and her joining as many tournaments as she can, it seems very unlikely she'll have the time for games like Nier in a long while.
