My favorite tower defenses are ones where you build a maze. It's a bit more interesting on trying to balance length of the maze, resources and damage.

The gem td format exists on numerous platforms there's a number of standalones as well. Nod a big fan of it generally, bit luck reliant on getting the combinations.
