When it comes to the term "oshi" it should be used as "waifu". Keep in mind, oshi does not mean the same thing in English vtubing culture as it does with Japanese idol culture necessarily. Loan words often do this. Just look at how the Japanese use the term "Let's" as a good example. Here, oshi was originally meant to be used like waifu was used in the West. Waifu in the West came from a funny part of Azumanga Daioh, but morphed into being in love with a 2D girl to an obsessive degree. It was only normalfags who morphed it into meaning any girl you like. Oshi was meant to be the same thing. But normalfags did the exact same thing and because of that nonsense, kamioshi was made by normalfags to distinguish the terms.
