Without anything else to go on, I can see why that'd be frustrating for the artist. you effectively left them to pick the setting, pose, kind of office wear, etc., and those are all things a potential client could have issues with after the fact. Generally, a rough sketch (even stick figures do wonders) of the pose, and an image/description of the specific outfit you want will do wonders for the artist. The big thing to remember is you want to minimize the amount of guesswork the artist might have to do.
