Okayu's 3D is very recent. If you watch the recent 3D streams, the improvement is slowly showing. It is most apparent in their hologra animations. Everyone knows they have been hiring a lot of people to improve their 3D. If Niji stays the same with a range of mediocre to poor 3D that is heavily reliant to the vtuber's vision and productiom knowledge, they will be surpassed very quickly. The camera work in Okayu's concert and just detailed animation in the water droplets and water on the ground says a lot to the their improvement.

Hololive at least give a sense of a community between the girls and the amount is bareable(barely) in my opinion. Is that the one from the beginning of the year? I can't find anything more recent. I think the biggest technical difference between Holo and Niji's 3D is the presence of real-time lighting on the holo models. They definitely have ways to go, I remember Nene's recent 3d concert was really janky in terms of expressions and the rendering on the body look pixelated and weird. Niji doesn't use real-time light rendering so they can have consistent frames and nothing appears too muddy. However, their audio setup for live 3D is quite poor, looking at Uiha's concert. I've seen "indies" with way better audio for 3D events.

Even then I wouldn't say Niji's 3D is mediocre.
