But her setup is a little scuff (which makes sense since she's 2view indie) so she'd need more upfront investment. Still could work, though

There are way too many fucking vtubers now and most of them have little appeal outside of coombatiing or mildly interesting vtuber tech. You can't grow JUST by being a vtuber anymore since vtubing isn't new or special now. I'm not surprised that the vtuber audience on Twitch is declining. The entire scene is just follow the leader all the way down. Metal Gear Rising is popular? That means EVERY vtuber is going to play it. New indie horror game dropped? Your oshi is going to play it soon so she doesn't miss the (very slight) viewership boost.

The entire thing is just creatively bankrupt, which is Twitch streaming as a whole if we're honest. Unless big vtubers start being trendsetters instead of endlessly following meta the viewership will continue to gradually decline

For games in particular there’s nothing wrong with it, playthroughs aren’t built equal. Certain streamers are just better commentators, more interesting personalities or react andys, or more easily invested in stories and autistic/skilled with game mechanics. All of it cater to different needs of different viewers.
