I don't know if it's different for commissions but every single artists I've commissioned have said to be as specific as possible.
The difference there is that I'm paying I guess.
The one time I tried not to, the artists kinda struggled.
I've made requests here both very specific and non specific but I've never got a deliver although that could be for several other reasons.

You say that, but they are, for lack of a better term, more time consuming for requesters to make. And often they are not delivered, at least not in the amount compared to the small fast; one line, no reference, maybe one picture requests.

Only thing I've learned over time I have been here is that if the idea catches the artist interest, then references and specifics that I want, doesn't really matter, they are just a plus. (although with small time chuubas, at least one reference for their model is needed.)

If you want to get a request delivered, you got to think like an artist, or if you know the regulars and semi-regulars preferences, you just adjust your requests to scratch their itch, or if you want a specific drawfag, try to adhere to their style, preferences and usual thing they like to draw. Some even have specific chuuba trait that they like to draw.
Often if you request something very unique, or at least very different from the usual requests, they are also more likely to draw them especially the more "talented" artists.

Indeed, but I think it depends on their workload, sometimes it's just nice to draw something simple and unoriginal, something where you don't have to think much about anatomy, or composition. Often the good artists have more demanding commisions to fill and therefore like to do the simple requests and are less specific and demanding.
