Honestly, if there's anything people should've been mad about with the model change it's the fact that it's disabled literally every single one of her outfits and 3d models. Knowing how much time cover takes, she's stuck using this model for what could be months or until she gets a new outfit... which could also be months. A lot of people focused on the changes that are pretty miniscule at the end of the day instead of the fact that she has basically lost all her outfits and only has the pin tool to try and replace them (unless I missed something where she said they'll be back soon).

AZKi only has ever had two base models. Her first two outfits were on the same base, and then her two more recent ones were on the new same base, and she even has the original model's 2nd outfit for her new base. People just assume since she's changing her main outfit that they're new models when they're not.

I think that's just a tech thing. Her first model was just relatively poorly made, you could see the seams in so many places, it looked like the face was a mask floating in front of her head. All of the earlier models were kind of like that, so at some point they started working on the 2.0 update. However, within a month or so of the 2.0 update coming out, she got a new outfit (TEC) for reaching 1 million subscriber milestone on billibilli, so clearly the so-called 1.5 outfits were worked on in parallel because they basically came out at the same time. I suspect Mito had no involvement in 2.0 because it looks nothing like his art of her and he would have been busy working on TEC and her formal outfit which uses the same base as TEC (so-called 1.5) and came out just a couple of months after TEC and 2.0 on her birthday that same year. Now, once all of this happened she stopped using and eventually lost access to her casual and new year's outfit because they used a slightly improved 1.0 as a basis and looked dated, so they were eventually brought up to par with her other 1.5 outfits. At the same time, cover decided to add a whole bunch of gimmicks to 2.0 and called it 3.0 but nobody cared so it was swept under the rug. A few months later, Kuro's model came out and used an entirely different base from her older models. She mentioned there had been talk of her getting the visual rework since last September, the time Kuro came out, so I kind of suspect that everyone was sick of having to maintain three different forks of her outfit and unify them all into the latest one. I haven't done any thorough model comparisons, but FBK said her new model is the most similar to Kuro's model so I think they might be using the same base. It would make sense because the turnaround time from September to now is relativelt low compared to Kuro who took Mito literally 2 years to make. The new model just looks very different now because the old base was ancient at this point and the way Mito draws her has evolved significantly over the years. Maybe be also made a deliberate effort to create some more distinctions between the faces of Shirakami and Kuro. Kuro has a different eye shape, smaller mouth, fangs, is paler etc. Who knows.

You are probably right, or there may be some sort of internal calibration involved, not sure how cover's software works. I do remember her mentioning at some point that her 2.0/3.0 model was slightly harder to control than her other models, so she might still be figuring out optimal camera placement and stuff.

Marine once did the calibration for home 3D on a membership stream and it was pretty much just her matching expressions with what she wanted from the model. It shouldn't be too different from 2D.

I would like to ask you something. I'm gradually catching on to more words and I'm still grindin' but I wanted to know. Does Fubuki have peculiar speech patterns? Some way of referring to things or over-understood (non-intuitive) memes that I should be aware of in order to understand her?
For example, I notice she often says "Shirakami", I guess she refers to herself in third person sometimes? that sort of thing.

Good work! She uses Shirakami as her first-person pronounce most of the time, but sometimes switches to watashi. I'm not sure if that's just her slipping up or if she deliberately switches it up once in a while. I can't think of any super specific common recurring patterns or anything, but she does have a few idiosyncrasies like everyone does. You'll figure them out over time. Examples include the occasional use of endings like -じゃい or -やんけ or replacing the phrase 無きにしも非ず with なきりにしもあやめ (as a pun because it sounds similar to Nakiri Ayame). She doesn't use any of them all that often, though. I'd say she's generally relatively easy to understand but once she starts making references to other media and it can get quite tricky, especially if you aren't familiar with them. Specific common jargon that's mostly unique to her and directly relevant to her streams would be her calling superchats お茶, red superchats 紅茶 and membership gifters 石油王.

I don't think they are going to update these in quick succession, I'd estimate one every six months or so, so we are looking at about 2 years until all of them are back, and who knows if we are not heading towards a 5.0 update at that point. At the same time, we also have the Gamers costumes which were probably developed in parallel to her update considering Mio's came out in December. I think the general consensus here tends to be (cautiously) positive. Most people agree that it is a definitely improvement on a technical level, but many also miss certain parts that made the model uniquely her that are different on the new model. I think most people will get used to it over time. Personally, I like it and I have gotten used to it faster than I thought I would. At first I thought the mouth was a bit off compared to the old model, but that was probably just a camera setting/calibration thing because that got way better in subsequent streams, so I really like it now. I don't think I've seen anyone here be entirely negative about it except for a couple of one liner posts in the last thread that didn't even qualify their opinion and, judging by the number of IPs, were probably tourists.

In a way, she is still trying to find her footing (and limits) in using Kuro in real content other than Utawakus. This was her first real game frame (other than two gimmicky Fall Guys ones) and I think her second ever time she had an extended Zatsudan portion with Kuro as well. She is still clearly very hesitant about using Kuro in the first place. I think it might be related to the mixed messages she got from that poll last year (which in my opinion was poorly phrased, there was basically no middle ground between "I want Kuro all the time" or "I want Kuro once a decade").
She seemed really unsure if we even wanted this in the first place. First, she probed us on Twitter to see if we'd be interested in this, then mentioned she is still undecided and might play the game herself after all and then the next day did a poll during her stream to make sure we actually wanted it (I couldn't see the final result as I only saw it in the archive but it sounded like a 90% yes kind of thing).
During the gameplay portion of this stream, she deliberately acted like someone with little streaming experience, playing in a pretty natural way, she stayed mostly quiet and didn't talk/overact much during the whole thing. And during the zatsudan part, she kept acting as though she isn't all that familiar with most Holomen and only has surface knowledge about them, only referring to them with their last name as though they were strangers and saying she doesn't want to collab with them because she barely knows them, doesn't know how to talk to them and has very little in common with them in general. She's pretty dedicated about staying in character and really afraid of coming out of her self-imposed limits while using Kuro. I'm sure someone like Okayu would make for a great first collab, but she seems really against it.
I think the above-mentioned masturbation comment was just another instance of her trying to find her limits. During the last Zatsudan, she did the same thing when she called us virgins for the first time (I think?). She's slowly trying to see how people react to her saying these kind of things, note how she tweeted about going through the tags to gauge everyone's reactions immediately after the stream. I can honestly see why, while I don't mind too much, but it can be jarring for some people to hear her say stuff like this as Kuro while pretending to be more innocent as Shirakami, it's kind of similar to the fake Mane-chan hand card opening situation in a way. It's a fine line to walk and she wants to make sure she doesn't do anything that might affect her fans opinion of her.

Me personally I've always liked seeing kuro, it's a way for fubuki to present herself in a different way without ruining or changing the likeness of her image even if she hasn't gotten a hold of what she wants kuro to be yet. I'm pretty much on the same page, I like her and I like that she has way less of a filter and gives FBK the opportunity to act a little different than usual. But on the other hand I can also see her concerns. I do not want every single Kuro stream to be nothing but people asking her to step on them or insult them. There's a new Shirakami voice line set on sale. I guess this "starter" product line is to ensure that there are always some sort of goods available for each member even outside of special time limited events. Not exactly the same thing but I've been wondering this for awhile now and wanted to know if it had a definite answer. Is there a reason she doesnt do voicepacks? Whenever I see hololive release them I always see she's never apart of the members involved. I never really like voicepacks but a lot of fans seem to like them so I would think it would be natural to do them. I guess she might feel too embarrassed to do them, but I'm just wondering if she ever gave an answer to this. I may not be checking the right things but I'm pretty sure she hasn't done one in a long time, barring her rare membership one.

I don't think there is a definite answer, but I'm pretty sure she just doesn't enjoy doing them all that much. I think the latest one she released before this was for her birthday in 2020, it's still available on geekjack ( https://shop.geekjack.net/products/shirakami-fubuki-birthday-commemorative-voices-full-set-with-bonus-voice ), I don't think the official store has it because it didn't exist back then. I was wondering the same thing, she has mostly been doing zatsudans or eating stuff for quite a while now. She said meant to actually use her KU100 this time for the first time in a long time, but her cord was broken so she couldn't. But then again, she would have probably still wanted to tell all these behind the scenes stories. She said she will try to make up and do an off-schedule KU100 stream this month once it is fixed, maybe she will do some actual ASMR stuff this time. While I also enjoy these more personal zatsudans, I do wonder why she bothered buying the KU100 for like 10 grand if she never takes advantage of it.

She tends to put a lot responsibility on herself while also at the same time trying to avoid attention. She always goes out of her way to promote and help others but gets very shy and quick when she has to promote herself.
It's very very rare that she talks about what stresses her out or what's weighing her down, but I do remember that she's mentioned that streaming is her way of relieve and get her mind off of her stress. When she's been more vulnerable, like during the Coco incident, she mentioned that she felt responsible and that she couldn't do enough to help her. I remember her talking about how she felt Hololive both saved her and also can be stressful and difficult. Though she was very apologetic and ashamed of showing this part of herself and keeps this kind of thing generally locked up so she can focus on helping others and making everyone happy.

Other than what others have already mentioned, there is a general lack of confidence in herself and her ideas. She mentioned before that she often has ideas of things she wants to do but in the end, does not submit to her manager because she feels like it might not be well received or might be difficult to implement. Before she made more of an effort to do more music over the past year or, the same thing also applied to that part of her. Making original songs is a long-winded process that can take up to a year and doesn't show any short-term results, so she was often discouraged from pursuing that because the result is so far away. She'd get motivated and start to work on getting things done, but then abandoned them quickly. Her confidence problems also apply to interpersonal stuff. You might think of her as a confident person that is great at talking and MCing events and stuff, but she always says she is only able to do so when her "business switch" is on and basically works on autopilot. If she just goes out with a group of other Holomen and there are more than just a couple of them or people she is less familiar with, she tends to stay quiet and not say much. She was very unsure about joining the Minecraft servers for literal years because it was too much of an unscripted social experience, so she felt like she didn't belong there with all these social butterflies. In the end, all it needed was a little push from Okayu and it worked out perfectly fine. Same about the music/long-term event planning thing, about a year ago, right after the first SCHOOL OF LOCK radio show, she had a conversation with Polka about her issues with that during a stream and Polka pushed her to be more confident in that regard. She then privated it because she got embarrassed about her feelings being out there, but in the end I feel she has been getting better about these issues ever since, she has made more of an effort to release covers and original songs and her last birthday and her recent anniversary streams ended up being full of things based on ideas she herself really wanted to do and proposed on her own initiative.
