The market and demand for face tracking is bigger than you can ever conceive. Think of all the facial recognition apps, locks for firearms/cars/houses, and Zoom/Facetime without background incorporation into the work place.

Even if you start now you'll never never be able to be independently cutting edge, you'll just find a paywall very soon very fast. But that's not to say, that it's hard to get into. On the contrary there's so much resources, free, and tutorials on YouTube that it's brainless. I am brainless and talking out of my volume-detection lazy ass btw.

I don't stream with that voice though. Pigby was sort of an experiment that was triggered by myself kind of being burnt out on streaming. It was sort of an exercise in voice acting and trying to do a high kayfabe character. I also wanted to see how long it would take for people to realize Pigby was me (no one did, though having only streamed once that's not saying much).

I chose that particular model because I thought it would be a funny contrast to my frankly ridiculously edgy kayfabe. Only after streaming did I realize it so closely resembled Digby, but the name Pigby stuck and was pretty neat really.

I gave up on streaming as Pigby for a couple of reasons. Firstly I realized how difficult and exhausting it is to speak with both a drastically different voice and mannerisms while also attempting to not be "found out" for an entire stream while also attempting to be entertaining. If you were there for my 'debut' you will probably remember that it wasn't very entertaining, I just was overwhelmed with it all to be honest. Also after rewatching my stream I realized that my voice acting was really faltering a lot towards the middle of it. It almost didnt feel like the same character any more at that point.

Secondly I realized that starting over with basically 0 followers sucks ass. Having followers and viewers (as modest as mine are) really spoils you, and having to rebuild that is not something I am really all that eager to do again.

My current thought is to keep the coat but have it loosely around my shoulders but I'm not sure what to do about the gold part in the middle that kind of looks like it's holding it together. I think the gold adds a nice color contrast from the black and red, so I'm hesitant to completely get rid of it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'd say think of a trope you want to go for and then branch from there. The clothes feel pretty generic atm, so I think a cohesive theme would help. Make a moodboard of characters you'd like to theme around-- the more the better, even if they clash. Pinterest is genuinely your best friend, as cringe as it sounds. From there, start honing in on the bits you like from your ideas you've saved and start combining. Repeat until you feel happy with it. It's an iterative process, so don't be afraid to start again to get a fresh look.

(This is at least what I've done for 3, going on 4, L2D models. YMMV.)

My Pinterest trips generally come from searching "dark academia" but that's literally only applicable to me. If you search a bit, Pinterest will curate your home page so that can be useful for pushing out and seeing things you might not search for. She started streaming in 2020 at 10 CCV and within a month she went up to a 100. This is probably due to girl + facecam + league. She will have done some advertisement in advance otherwise you will not be able to get anywhere as a league streamer but as a girl you have a big advantage at least.

Here's an older VOD from 2 years ago. Basically the league girl experience, which isn't a bad thing. Since then she kept her 100+ CCV by streaming consistently, the same content for over 3 years and increased it to 250+. This is very slow growth and to be expected. In a way I'm not even sure if becoming a chuuba is going to change anything considering she's been pretty much a the same CCV for a long time. It's not like her streams are anything too unique, but she had an initial audience and kept them, by grinding streaming very hard, which is admirable.

You might be wanting more visual interest in general, which is easily solved with some texture and patterning. I like that it's minimal on accessories at the moment. VTubers tend to overdo it on those. You also may also want more points of high contrast and something about the design that leads the viewer toward the very pretty face and head, whether it's density of information (less toward the bottom, more toward the top) or color design. On that note, rIght now it's quite a desaturated palette, which is probably intentional, but something worth toying with before you consider altering the design.

Unfortunately, while it does make sense as a design element, I think the symmetry, straight lines, and contrast of the dress shirt flaps around the waist are a bit jarring and could be softened and could be curved to convey, if not more of the form of the hips and waist, an atmosphere that eases the transition from the softer and more curvy top of your design to the straight-legged and pleated bottom. I notice in your references this is much more the case.

In my opinion, the silhouette overall is fine. It takes very minimal elements to make for a good silhouette. I think yours conveys your personality and attitude well.

I will also mention offhand that the shoes would probably do well to be replaced with loafers.

The vibe is very much conveyed as well, by the way, except that due to the minimal folds and drapery, you look much more stern than the vibe references. But I understand you are not at the point in the process where you're rendering such things.

I'm really hoping and praying that the color design basically being a gradient from saturated green -> duller brown from top to bottom will help with this.
