i've been shitting up vtuber threads since /hlg/ on /jp/, but 90% of what i post is limited to some variation of "______ cute"

I can't speak to how many non-general catalog threads are posted by a few of the same people.
However, the most active general threads all have only about 4 posts per IP. So there doesn't actually seem to be that much samefagging within those threads.

I think it's been thoroughly proven at this point that the entire concept of "containment" doesn't work. If you give something a dedicated space, that incentivizes more of it, and as it gets more widespread, it will inevitably leak into other connected spaces.

Nigga the generals here are the very definition of "threads are created and bumped by a handful of the exact same spammers and samefagging schizos". It's all the same handful of perpetually online kids talking to each other, reposting the same forced memes, treating those threads like their private discords, acting as they were somehow separate entities from the rest of the board. They even act as their posts were private communication, despite being scrapped in real time by like 5 independent archive sites and schizos equiped with curl and wget.
