I do but it’s even less presentable than my actual writing. I have a habit of thinking about random pieces of lore when writing even if the two are barely related. In my opinion, considering details of a character that don't explicitly come up in the story is pretty valuable. Details like that inform the individual's personality even if it's not directly relevant, for example her preferred weapon says a lot about whether she prefers to be up close to the enemy or far away, cautious or reckless, the kind of technology and factions she's familiar with, etc. She might also say something like "I wish I had an X right now...", and then there's always sequels.
But I also like to make insane character sheets with a bunch of info that literally won't ever be mentioned, so I might be biased.

For as much influence the catalog is supposed to have in terms of the heavenly realm and all that hubub, I never saw alot of representations of how it could be used or explored outside of one or two stories.

They always are limited by the laws of physics, but that's semantics. The main thing I could see is wider application of the energy it provides through conventional tech.

There's a concept from space Battleship Yamato I want to shamelessly steal where the subspace/hyperdimension was used as a means to achieve stealth instead of just an FTL transport method.
Basically, the ship slips into the catalog and only comes out to fire its weapons before disappearing again.
For an analogy, it's basically a U-boat, which went underwater to achieve stealth, and has to come almost to the surface to fire its torpedoes. Except "underwater" is the catalog.
I don't think it would be flawless, as always when using thosses things there would be magical emissions, but it would be invisible in electromagnetic waves, and require specialized weapons to attack while in the catalog.

So the scary being is some kind of automaton, or a drone? With motion-sensor based vision, old fashioned but robust. We're Jurassic Park now.
Ah, so the amber eyes weren't just to give her a cool flair, there's functionality! Nice foreshadowing. So contact lenses with laser protection and active focusing included? Or are they more passive? That's a nice gift regardless, MC is progressing. I see why you asked about Morinium now... Guess I should come up with some stuff important enough to use it. >>50604103
To be honest a lot of its design’s ultimately based around it being le quiet gun, it’s just that suppressed revolvers are pretty rare due to how it functions so a stealth revolver is inherently cooler (also because revolvers are inherently cooler)
Many of the details are based on OTs-38, a relatively rare gun from Russia. Its silence mostly comes from the unique ammunition design and it’s also used by the earlier PSS silent pistol. Apparently the same design’s also used by S&W’s Quiet Special Purpose Revolver (but it’s more like shotgun shells than pistol bullet) for tunnel-clearing purposes. The integral laser sight’s from OTs-38 while some models of Bamak having a rail system’s based on RSh-12, a non-silent “assault revolver” that fires sniper rounds and make use of the bottom-chamber barrel to make recoil more bearable. The bit about removable cylinder’s from an experimental design commonly known as “air marshal revolver” which is ironic because it was commissioned by Eastern for its pilots so that they don’t have to have air marshals on board (they eventually relented). The idea’s that the pilots would carry the gun and the cylinder separately and only put them together on-board, but here I use it for quick reload without having to take the spent cartridges out (more on that below)
These characteristics also happen to be useful in space ships as their corridors are probably cramped like tunnels but worsened by them likely being metallic. The issue with ejected casing in microgravity’s something I found on Atomic Rockets while doing my laser gun rep, and it also suggests using revolvers to mitigate that issue. The only part that I made up myself’s the lack of muzzle flash allowing it to be used when the air’s flammable or explosive (but Atomic Rockets probably have that mentioned somewhere anyway)
It’s meant to be the preferred weapon of the possum girl from the story but I can’t find a way to justify her specialist weapon present in the story, as the only way it would be on an enemy ship’s if she brought it on board, but then she would likely still had it on her and have used it already

>the 40 000 AC gunpowder revolver
kinooooooo. That carries on the theme of vnuggets liking old, reliable technology. I like the note on muzzle rise, I researched that a bit some time back and found out about guns that mount the barrel at an angle such that the kickback goes through the center of mass of the weapon, replacing most of the muzzle rise with pure recoil.

The sharper vision’s actually a feature of hard contact lenses because the space between the lens and cornea’s filled with tears. Tear’s also the right word here because they’re a complete pain to use and keep clean until you get used to it and I hate every moment of it
The ones they use in the story are probably either hybrid or scleral lenses because hard contact lenses are very difficult to fit on someone else’s eyeball, although it’s also possible that the lenses are made with some high tech stuff that automatically fits to the eyeball they’re on (given that they can already block laser reflections and disinfect themselves) and also have auto-focusing ability like the ones from that Batman movie

They are a pain. I used dailies until I stopped doing contact sports and switched to glasses, and even those are annoying. Not being able to freely take a nap is a huge bother and would have become more of a problem as I get older and naps become more common. I wonder what other fun features you could slap on contact lenses... Maybe a really high tech one could fit a heads-up display in there and get some AR going. Or it could convert IR to visible light. Not sure if you could fit that much hardware into something like a contact lens, diffraction limits might get in the way.

You can probably justify putting a lot of stuff in contact lenses with a combination of nanomachines and chuubanite but I think the more important question’s how many things you want to put on them, since the more information you put in, the more likely the user’s sensory gets overloaded as you can only process so many things

>>50605805
I think it would depend on how costly it is to integrate Morinium into the system but I imagine it being a standard (if potentially expensive) thing on laser and other caseless man-portable weapons where you need to pump a lot of energy through them (either a lot of bolts or one big bolt) without access to air or large radiators

Archive in space under /morig/.
Put together a spec sheet to overview the deadbeat crab-based mecha.
I plan on making short entries on all the made up techno-babble words, should be fun. I'll also make a template for more standard machines.

Space Morig should have a gun called Mementos or something.

I was thinking of calling the homeworld Memento, so that could work nicely, a bit like a Winchester rifle, with the gun named after the inventor whose name comes from where he's from.

It would be fun to have a range of weapons that play into different aspects of chuubas, ironic or otherwise.
Also terms and slang that are warped versions of slang on /vt/. Perhaps like calling something "cunny calibur" for a weak cheaply made weapon or "mating press" being used witht the same connotation of BTFO or being the name of a naval warfare manuever. Been looking through my Cyberpunk 2020 book and all the weird slang words jump out in a fun way, the author of Ribofunk does something similar actually.

Imagine politicians "Now that the dust has settled"-posting... I do love the cyberpunk 2020 slangs, they're very soulful and immersive at the same time. Choomba sounds suspiciously like chuuba.

I think the common name for deadbeat mobile suits will be Daemon, there's a lot of Daemon X Machina posting in /morig/, and it's suitably chuuni and thematic.
