I can't watch Subaru. Her fake voice is grating. Just Kiara, moona and risu. You can tell it's fake because she's dropped it at times. Meanwhile, Kiara has clips of cake princess talking in normal english and japanese, even if she's still detectably esl by "native" American standards. Moona and Risu are so bad that if you heard them singing you couldn't even tell it was them.

Fuck the fake voices. Korone's is cute because it's her entire shtick is that she's presenting herself as a low iq doggo even if the person behind it is competent. With Subaru, Kiara, moona and Risu they're not trying to come off as idiots. They're just faking it to be cutesy or separate themselves from their real personas, which is cynical and phony because it doesn't even make the streams more fun.

I'd rather they all just talked like normal people. Even if they're still dorky, real dorks voicing an anime girl will always be superior to real dorks pretending to be fake dorks pretending to be an anime girl. The former can at least come off as ironic, while the latter are trying a bit too hard to be fake. Sometimes less is more.

Only when Subaru gets that sorted out will I ever even care about her level of English proficiency...which may actually be surpassed by A-chan's eigo cramming at this point despite A-chan having a real job and Subaru...not having one. When studying eigo could be turned into content, there's not even an excuse for a gen 2 holo with extensive prior knowledge of English to not have just become somewhat fluent at this point. Subaru should've theoretically been able to collab with en by now at a reasonable level of esl, at least had she studied after learning about the hiring of Coco, her overseas fans, and plans to introduce Holo en. The fact that she struggles with English to this very day despite having ample time to to study on stream with a legion of free English tutors at her disposal while still getting paid is actually telling about her priorities and work ethic.

Everyone else, even in the fucking business world, can and WILL tell you that every self-respecting nation in the world (with notable exceptions of US, Brits and France) highly appreciates ANY effort in their own language.
