It's actually the opposite, where they keep the SC's off (usually), and focus specifically on the people who did donate in prior streams; ones that haven't been read at the end of other game streams. There are other "Zatsudan" streams that just involve the girl talking, and some keep their SC's on for that, but EN doesn't really do them as often as their JP counterparts.
I'm mostly a HL fan, but pop in on the VJ girls from time to time, and while each format may be preferable to one fanbase or another,

I'm familiar with the SC reading streams, which are a good way to show appreciation, so that's good! But, sometimes I feel like something is lost when a message isn't given "in the moment". Sometimes donation messages are just random fluff and sometimes they're relevant to what the streamer is talking about or feeling at the time.

To me it is more about the emotions behind it. Mousey getting to 14k subscribers brought her to tears, as milestones usually do. The way the Twitch notifications is set up, I feel like it's too disruptive to the focus of the stream, and while I know the talents are in control of how obtuse the notifications or rewards are, I'd rather a more streamlined event that may have a few unique donations read/thanked in the moment, and keep the reading to the side.
Some of those rewards are funny though, and as smaller streamers, that helps a lot with getting more revenue and fun fan interactions.

Twitch culture is more about gifting subs. Direct donations happen and some are huge, but there aren't as many as there are SCs on youtube. I think doing SC readings on youtube makes a lot of sense, while it's possible to give donators a bit of attention on twitch without needing a separate stream for it.

Snuffy Nyan and Vei have made mention of this place but not gone into any specifics about threads they look at and Nyan + Vei probably don't visit anymore. Silver and Vei both have looked at the other thread confirmed but only Vei occasionally lurks now. aside from the Vtuber community being bad, i do think there is a problem with Vtuber agencies being lazy and choosing to put scantily clad characters/ jiggly boobs in their streams so they can use the sex appeal to attract viewers. I think it does alienate some viewers. It alienates people who are female and are embarrassed that their gender is portrayed in such a way, and alienates people who just want to watch a fun stream without titties bouncing everywhere, it can be insulting because it’s like the Vtubers think you NEED to see sexy stuff to be interested in them. Vtubers that are dedicated to just being fanservice titty-fests like Project Melody and Silvervale are silly, though I won’t say that they shouldn’t be allowed to exist, I mean if people want to watch titty bouncing then that’s just their preference for the kind of media they enjoy (I cant imagine what that must be like), I only have a problem with it when they try to argue that these Vtubers are in any way good or entertaining outside of the sex appeal, lol.
