This is the way I'm thinking about it:
"Debuts" are a lot of effort to do right. They are choreographed, scripted, and you only get one chance to do it right.

As a complete beginner, I don't think it's worth it. So instead I plan on just starting streaming, getting experience, and eventually making an "introduction video" that will serve the same purpose as a debut video but without all the headache and stress.

This is just my current strategy, you can do whatever you think is best obviously.

"Debut" is a corpo thing. You debut as a member of the corpo. You don't debut as a vtuber. People show up to corpo debuts to see who the corpo has selected to present. You really aren't competing for the same market at this size unless you are both occupying an incredibly small niche which you are almost certainly not.
