People point to the Coco and Rushia graduations as an example of Hololive being able to tank controversy but forget the circumstances surrounding it and how the talents themselves handled the situation. If Coco graduated on bad terms or if Rushia was kicked just because of some boyfriend yab then Cover would've gotten fucked. It cannot be overstated how important it is that FBK and the rest of the earlier gens are actual advocates of the company and set the tone early on. If the talents especially the self proclaimed canarys started fucking off on bad terms, Cover would not survive the incoming fan backlash and Yagoo knows that. Niji has tanked a lot more controversial (though nothing compares to the Taiwan yab) shit and a lot more often. But that's mainly because the fans care more about the company than the talent. Look no further than the latest yab where you have unironic nijifags defending the company despite their livers getting fucked on the merch side.
