I think most of /vt/ is under no illusion that Hololive's whole shtick is appealing to lonely social rejects, especially men, as much as possible and presenting them with an illusion of friend- and/or partnership. To sum up, the vast majority of people are fully aware that Hololive is a fantasy and they choose to escape into that fantasy from time to time because it makes them feel happy. Being reminded of how that fantasy is not reality is not only condescending, but serves to deprive people of this source of happiness - it's especially bad when something like this comes from a Hololive member who has actively been expanding upon and nurturing that fantasy for years by very purposefully acting in ways that makes the audience happy and avoiding topics that may make the audience unhappy (there's a reason you don't hear chuubas talk about their political opionions, romantic experiences, or really any other topic that can be expected to snub parts of the audience).
