Christ I already said Korone is a completely pointless character given the existence of Fubuki but I still thought I'd play her a bit more because I already learned her and of course I get a Fubuki, eat shit to exactly the stuff I said was better, and on top of that it's like playing Dan against Akuma. Not only are her tools all worse versions, they're just fucking invalidated. If you do backdash though her 5 h catches you since it moves her forward and stays active for about 5 years. My best suggestion against botan is to look if she tosses out 5m in neutral and slap her for it with either a long counter poke or a jump in since it stays active for so damn long. of course that's easier said then done when she has the best anti air normal hands down.

Yeah I've liked it ok the little bit I've got to play. A little too ARC style in the button setup (I'm old, so I'm more accustomed to CAP/SNK layouts). I'm not super attached to Hololive IPs but I follow enough to catch the bits and such, and it seems well made. While I'm 50/50 on the overall art style it's still really good for a western doujin game. I hope it continues to expand into a VS style game, but that's just personal bias. Here's to hoping they make Calli into a SamSho 2 Earthquake style character.

Dev will probably patch it soon. I don't think modern fighting games should have unblockable set up. This seems to be fairly easy to set up for every character has 2H as air unblockable normal, which cause this issue in the first place. Any character that can end a combo that force an air tech in corner can force apply the unblockable with assist/collab. I think I saw a streamer doing it with fubuki using robocco assist

Finally fought a Botan that was decent and I can see why people hate her. When they got me fullscreen I basically lost the game because they'd spam shots and grenades. It's also annoying how one of the better zoners has the best combo damage in the game and you end up at a huge health disadvantage when she hits you once.
But, whenever I got in their face they were basically dead, the only annoying thing at that point was 5M because it makes her hurtbox basically disappear.

Until they buff movement options I'll keep playing Sora. Her keepout game is really strong at the moment against most characters. If Botan wasn't busted I'd say Sora would be the best character in the game slightly beating out Aki.

Aki has more fucked up neutral but her setplay isn't as strong and you need to be an execution god to play her well. Sora also requires above average execution compared to the rest of the cast but you can go for easy mode baby combos into oki and still do well.

The game is still fairly offense heavy and fast pace. Once you get to players who are good at pressure and good at mix up, you don't want to have to hold block against them. The game doesn't have much defensive option relative to how strong the pressure/oki is. If you are going a better projectile character, you have to aggressively control and take space so every projectile they throw have some risk. That would be a really fun mode for games that have screen filling bosses like some of the versus series have (Apocalyse, Onslaught, whatever the fuck was the name of Marvel 2's boss, Galactus). Botan MU isn't nearly that bad, but it's not good. But it's mainly tolerable because Kiara assist exists. Aki I don't even know because I haven't even fought one. Sora is probably her worst matchup that I actually tried. Maybe 8:2 at the worst, literally the only thing you can do against 6M is 5H as a whiff punish but it doesn't give a knockdown and you can't combo because Sora is too far away. Part of it is because armor in this game just doesn't work. Check this shit out, 5M has projectile armor, but it doesn't go the full distance because getting hit during armor pauses her in place, running out the active frames. It's even worse with raptor grab, because you eat the damage from melee hits, don't even reach because of the hitstop runs out your active frames, then get hit with a full punish combo on top of that.

I am playing Coco and I want to understand where's my limits and the character limits start. I understand if I want to win I must pick a top tier, but, I wish to ride out coco purely out stubborness.

With Coco, one thing that's really important is stagger pressure. By that, I mean intentionally leaving small gaps in your pressure to make them do something stupid. For example, Coco's 2L and 5L can be used to tick throw into a grab. However, if they're used to it, they will jump out. There's ways to counter it. If they block a 2L, you can wait very slightly until you press your next button. If you press 2L then press 2H a bit after, if the enemy jumps they'll get caught by 2H and you get a combo for it. 2H can also possibly catch people trying to mash out of your pressure, but watch the distance. You can also do 2L-2L. This loses to mashing because there's a 9 frame gap, but it resets the situation if they block, and if they jump you either get an AA punish, or you push them closer to the corner. And it doesn't just have to be done with grabs, you can stagger pressure anything to catch people thinking that your blockstring is over and make them scared to press buttons.

getting hit is 200-330 damage 90% of the time, it's just how the game is. it's not much a poke game like Soul Calibur 2 or something, most hits will chain into full combo quite trivially here.
the truth is for a lot of people, you probably aren't blocking as much as you think. there aren't many active def. options in this game. but simply blocking is strong, since overheads are rather readable and reactable, and there's no combo from normal throws outside of some weird collab or kuso moments. Burst early and often, no point bursting when you have a pixel of health left in the round, unless its to stay in a match.

make sure you are doing the minimum of a BnB combo. you don't need to win to learn but it'll certaily help you win if you don't leave easy damage on the table. Scaling is strong in this game so a super optimized combo is much harder for not really much more damage than a simple launch and juggle.

obviously this advice might be a be different for Coco idk shit about her except she's a grappler, but still.
the more you play, the more the game will slow down, it's normal everything is happening at heartstopping pace when you are new.
