Breaks seem to do the opposite actually. Most of /lig/'s big chuubas tend to take very frequent breaks. Vienna comes to mind, she takes a week to a month break every month and still gets huge numbers. Saruei also took pretty much a 2 month break to prep for debut and is doing better numbers now than she did before, but that could just be debut buff. When Shondo comes back from break she'll probably have a couple hundred more viewers than usual for the first stream or two.
