It's already happened. Vocaloid has had a nice little come back from where it was in 2015/2016. I think the fact that 90% of vtuber cover songs are vocaloid tracks is actually a pretty big part of that. People hear the cover, check out the original, and then check out the other stuff from that specific Vocaloid producer.

Niggaplease, the JP and ID girls sing vocaloid songs on karaoke streams every week. And they have some of the top covers for the most popular new vocoloid songs.
