Twitch is better at small ccv but unless you’re doing 5-7ads a stream you’ll still be making less than a regular job. 100+ccv on youtube may average out between 1k-10k views. If you’re not streaming 3 times a day 6 days a week this again wouldn’t be sustainable. That’s where Followers/Subscribers play a role because you start to get sponsors paying couple hundred for an ad read or thousands to actually play the game. So no couple hundred ccv is not good unless you have whales or a disproportionate amount of subs. There’s also where the majority of your viewers live. If you have 2000 indonesians similar worth to 750 westerners or 1250 indians. The split is $4.55 in most western countries, $3ish in India and $1.36 in Indonesia. Also to the bot that tried to compare 100 paying customers in real life to a chance at 0 paying customers on youtube no it’s not the same. It’s why people don’t start selling merch till they reach a certain size.

So no not period. 70 ccv but averaging hundreds of sc a stream is better than 700 with limited sc. But once you pass 5k you’re golden even if it’s 5000indos and you live in a first world country it’s livable and sustainable with near 0 sc. 2500 is probably sustainable in any country but even with the worst scenario 5k wouldn’t fail. This is for your average streamer none of this applies to vtuber corpos because they are either making above average money or still working a real job.

I was also streaming Hogwarts Legacy for a while after I got pissed at people harassing Pikamee over it, and until a year ago I was streaming a lot of Super Mario World Kaizo (I decided it was best for me to mostly move on from it due to how toxic the community is, what with them slandering me and all).
Even then I was lucky to get message in chat that wasn't a "wanna become famous?" faggot.

You are completely ignoring the context, if it was an avenue or a recital in a physical space it would be different and yeah, 500, 1k or 10k would be absolutely fantastic then, but online you have access to millions upon millions of people not being restricted by physical space AND usually they don't even need to pay for the content itself, this is not even considering that you can just watch the VOD later too, and there's many other factors like superchats or merchandising on top of that.

Anyways, this is not to say that some people do care WAY too much about numbers, but trying to complete negate their importance and usefulness as data is also silly.

The problem comes from not gaining new viewers because viewers will drop out sooner or later. Lamy talked about this a long time ago. For the viewer, watching is just a hobby and it's to expected that they change their hobby over time or at least try something else in the same genre. A steady increase in numbers shows that there is something entertaining for new viewers and not just the old gard watching

it depends on two factors i'd say, A. is it higher or lower then their genmates/colleagues/friend group, and B. are they at 1k because they were small and are inclining, or because they were big and are declining.

If 1k is higher then their colleagues and/or they are still inclining then it is very impressive, however if their colleagues regularly outperform them and/or they used to get more viewers then that and have begun to decline, then it's more on the pathetic side

On twitch yes on youtube maybe. You don’t make money off ccv on youtube it’s off the vods. 1k can be anywhere between 10-30k on a vod and that’s livable if you stream super often and super consistently. Next is do you have 50k or 100k subs that would determine sponsors. Finally is it 100-200 minimum a stream. Livable but an overnight security job would pay better and be less effort. On the flipside you could be squeezing people dry and bringing in a couple hundred off 100-200 viewers like Nene from kawaii. Depends on expenses and all the numbers. Nene is bringing more in then Rin at a fifth of the ccv but definitely isn’t bringing in more than iofi/risu who has the same ccv as Rin
