The main competition for male vtubers in the west are actually other male streamers. People who watch male streamers in the west don't care if they use an anime avatar, a cam or stream without any 'reaction cam'. They only care if they are entertaining enough
This is why I think Nijisanji, which is known for its male vtubers, didn't debut with a male vtuber on the first wave of EN livers and why I don't see Prism doing the same.

Tsunderia has almost every one of those problems as well, with two exceptions. They used to run ads for their Gen. 0 (I don't know if they still do), and the networking issue was solved by the talents themselves. In the case of the former, a new viewer could potentially be confused and turned off by a cult following. The sight of the same faces depositing large sums of money may be uncomfortable for them. They also probably won't understand a ton of 5-month old jokes and references because they don't know anything about it and no one will explain it to them because off-topic is not allowed in talent chat, and even if it were allowed, it would take forever to explain each one. Neither the talent nor the chat show uses simple, easy-to-understand streaming language that could attract new viewers because it's easy for them to join the conversation in that case

Kawaii has some really talented girls. Isla and Hana are really great singers and Nene is a great entertainer. Prism has talented girls too but I wouldn't say any of them are especially known for anything in particular? I guess Rita specializes in music and Luto's a gremlin entertainer but Gen 1 haven't done enough to stand out among other vtubers I guess. That's the kinda thing that makes the algorithm pick up on someone or makes it worthwhile to clip them, having some niche.
