Realistically she is a 2000+ rated player, which is decent, but not super strong or anything. That's the ENTIRE point of a tournament. It wasn't even a casual tournament either if all the girls fucked off to practice to try and win.

Most of the tetris players could barely make a tetris going less than 1 PPS. If there were a few skilled players rather than just one player stomping there would probably have been less complaints.

The real problem wasn’t that marine was good but that she has previous knowledge and experience on puyo. No amount of tournament grind coming from the other girls mean anything compared to said previous experience. For the very same reason suisei didn’t participate and the exhibition match also proved that unless you’re pro level puyo is far easier and more forgiving than tetris. Yesterday miko played against nene, nene played tetris and miko puyo (it was her first time playing puyo) and she destroyed nene while not really understanding how: that’s how easy and forgiving puyo is unless you’re insane at tetris and know how to counterplay puyo (aside from the fact they banned stuff to make tetris weaker).
There are two issues: senchou basically smurfed and while that’s funny enough for regular streams for a tournament it just comes off as unnecessary bullying; and that for the level shown by holomems they should have all played puyo or at least separated puyo from tetris.

The problem with marine being a commentator is that it wasnt well known that she was very good at it. it would have seemed odd having her commentate next to "tetris god" suzy. It would have been better if they had Marine commentate, but start the tourny with a demo match between Suisei and Marine so that they can explain the rules, show how the gamer works and most importantly, set the precedent that marine is very good and knows her shit (especially if she beats Suisei). then they could had had Pekora asking them questions and their opinions on how the games were going with Suzy being the tetris expert and Marine being the puyo expert.
