Part of me wants to say yes because I don't like the idea of a trans voice. There are some manly women and some really girly sounding dudes out there. Your voice is your voice. Just own it.

There's more options to being an entertainer than just being a vtuber. Perhaps you should explore alternate routes. I will be honest and I'm not shitposting/trolling, you probably won't get far as a new vtuber right now because the market is heavily saturated. There are thousands and thousands just like you. Not really. There are tons of times in games and anime where characters have androgynous voices. Just being good at streaming and fun to watch is the key factor. If you have a pleasant voice nobody will care. Obviously if it's grating and annoying then a job where speaking to an audience is your main job might not be the best fit.

What exactly do you mean by trans voice? My immediate guess is that yes, it’ll be a debuff, and you’d be the runt of the gen right after debut, but it’ll correct itself if you stand out for reasons other than just being trans (as in, you’re entertaining and make good content).

for many, voice is a dealbreaker. i've dropped new chuubas within seconds of hearing their voice grate against my ears

voice should match the model, if you've got a cute model and sound like a lifelong smoker you'll run into problems

honesty is best policy, people don't like to feel deceived and if you feed into lies either outright or through omission then you'll only be creating a bigger backlash when they're revealed - case in point, male collabs, bae announced an appreciation for male chuubas in her debut and it crippled her growth but there was no backlash when she inevitably did male collabs, kronii on the other hand mentioned nothing of the sort and blindsided many unicorns when she ended up doing them which was made worse by her not understanding why they were upset

focus your efforts on what you want to be known for. do you want to be THE TRANS VTUBER? then make your streaming personality TRANS TRANS TRANS and accept that anyone who doesn't like that will drop immediately. if you don't want that that then keep mentions as few as necessary, a short response to a non-troll inquiry will suffice, no need to launch into a diatribe

is your dream to get into hololive exclusively? you aren't the only person with that dream and for most it's unattainable. don't be afraid to change goals and seek other options

finally and most importantly, stream, make content, grab an AI png of your ideal character and go from there. if you want to be a vtuber then you should have been doing this already. you'll be a 0view, maybe a 1view for a long time but with practice, patience and networking you might get somewhere but only if you actually try

Yes it's a debuff on multiple levels. Because some people might feel grossed out by it.
Also know that there isn't any trans woman in Hololive at the moment. On paper they say you can play one of their female character regardless of your gender.
But Hololive will not want to hire someone that somehow sounds like a man for a female character.
But it doesn't mean you should give up on your plans. You can still manage to make your voice pass through a mix of HRT and training.
