On reddit, the vast majority of people commenting on posts about a news article never actually read the article being discussed. Most people base their discussion purely off the headline and what other people in the comments are saying. It is a universal fact that the harder it is to do something on the internet, the more people drop off. On any platform you like, just look at the stats for any given piece of content, views will be highest, it requires only that you click on the post, likes will generally be second highest, it only requires one extra click on the like button, and comments will have the lowest number, requiring many key presses.

I think it'll just be backup for twitter, Like Suisei getting shadowbanned etc or Miko locked out of her account they can just say something on the Holoplus app, Twitter will be the main platform until Elon fucks it up.

I really don't think they're trying to switch off of any service they're currently using just due to the massive financial undertaking it would require. They're just making sure there's an alternative set up in case the 3rd parties begin leveraging more fees/cuts.
