Probably not. If it gets to the point it can start structuring whole sections of manga, it means sensible people are going to use it to generate large chunks of their backgrounds if it can't handle their characters and then just draw in the characters on top, clean up a bit, and use it to put out material much faster. Cause most mangaka have their story well ahead of where the manga itself is, if not fully done. The issue is almost always storyboarding, drawing, and finishing the pages themselves. So if AI can be used to speed that up, it's a win, not a loss.

Also, while this lora does just shit out great images, it's basically unusable. Even the smallest change in the input is a monumental change to the output. Change one tag, completely different image. It's basically only good for tracing over img2img or controlnet because it's so hard to control.

Besides, most hands that get posted nowadays are at least halfway decent, meat turnips are rare.

Hello /vtai/, quick wagepost to ask a technical question.
I recently came up on some bread, and I'm looking into grabbing a new GPU. So to those who actually understand this stuff, how does the 3060 and 3070 compare in regards to image generation? One is half the price of the other so hoping the gap isn't too big and I can be cheap about it.
Also how do either of these compare to using colab running on the standard gpu runtime?

I would wait for the 4060/4070 launch, the 40 series has a significant advantage over the 30 in stable diffusion

i have a 2060 6 gig and the performance i get is a bit below of what is shown in the article 4.8 it/s vs 5.3 for a 512x512 image using DPM++2M Karras.
i'm also waiting for the 4070 launch (rumored to be on 13th of april) because it's rumored to have 16gigs of vrav vs the 12 of the 4070ti.

Vram is the memory used directly by the gpu to store assets like textures, meshes etc. Basically the more you have the better and complex scenes/images require more vram to be rendered.

In SD if you have more you can generate images of higher resolution

In gaming you can use higher quality settings

It seems the cheapest model I'm scoping has 12gb vram (a 3060 variant), so will probably spring for that one. Haven't had to upgrade my GPU for gaming but using SD 24/7 and having super colab+ sub is an expense I want to move to a one-and-done solution instead.

Depending on what you play a high end but very old CPU can easily run anything.
Just so long as you aren't playing something like Stellaris (which will run like ass even on the most powerful CPU available to the civilian market).
CPU tech as more or less died for the better part of a decade, chasing core count (irrelevant for most gaming beyond two cores, and for the rest beyond 4) and lower energy requirements while neglecting the only thing that truly matters: raw single core performance.

Alright here's my setup.
Seems I definitely didn't get the latest model cpu-wise, also realizing that 2019 is 4 years ago now and not 3.
I also misremembered which 4xx GPU I had, though the difference is negligible
the 16gigs of ram are on two sticks of 8, and I have 4 slots in total so if that's a bottleneck it's easily fixable.

That sounds comforting.
I'm not really planning to do anything crazy with it, just wanna get the same kinda output I'm getting on colab but move it locally for easier use. I was really hoping that a 3060 12gb would cut it, since those go for about 400 euros, whereas the 3070 is 700 euros, and while I've got 800 in my budget, I don't wanna spend double for less than double the upgrade you know.

They're more experienced in what affects the Stable Diffusion and what's not. You won't need the full system upgrade and the 3070 if all you'll do is just mostly generating images and you don't really game that much, or if you game you do not really care about not running on high resolution 60FPS at high-max settings something like that.
Get the 12GB 3060 and upgrade your RAM to 32GB, will save you a lot of money.

Alright, I think I've gotten a full picture of what does what and what's my best option here. Thankfully RAM and SSDs are dirt cheap around here, and I already got a separate 1TB SSD for file storage that's far from full, so should be no problemo.
