I'm pretty new to Kanata but is this true? Do you guys like the new model? For me, especially in 3D, the design seems souless. I liked all the previous ones a lot, maybe it's just me though.

I love the new model especially in 3d when she is singing. To me she NEEDED a cool outfit to fit her powerful and emotional singing. From the last concert if she sang Unravel, Akuma no ko, Betsu Sekai, or Zankyou Sanka in any of her other outfits they just wouldn't hit the same. Her other outfits work well enough for other songs that are cuter or higher pitched in general like Hibikase and Melt. I wish it was a little less complex like having the 2 sets of wings and the hair physics were better, but I'm just nitpicking.

For the home 3d model I like it less than I did for concerts but it is still fine.

It's been extremely well received pretty much everywhere I've looked, in the west and JP-side. If I were to nitpick I'd say it's a little too busy with details, and the arm womb tattoo is a little too in your face, but honestly I just love it so much I wouldn't know where to start changing it, specially the powerful presence it gives her on stage. Also, it makes me fucking diamonds.

Yeah, probably this is the biggest turn off for me. I was watching her Dark Souls stream today and man... That face doesn't work but I couldn't put my finger on what it was. Maybe is the hair or the chin that got sharper. It seems off. Then again, probably is just me!

I'm surprised just how well the game's difficulty curve of feeding you new threats by the time you're comfortable with the old ones is working on her. Kanataso feels like she's hitting that sweet spot when you're just good enough to have an edge and keep learning while always being kept on your toes. She absolutely aced the Havel encounter but got hilariously bested by Depths, the doubts in her voice after chat implied she used the purging stone too early was exactly what I was expecting and I bet a lot of people also are getting exactly what they've signed up for out of these streams.

I think I myself am getting addicted to her getting addicted to Souls. I'm waiting eagerly for her to reach BKS stat requirements, she might become too powerful by the time she reaches Quelaag.

she also beat capra demon very well using a shield properly. generally, in the early part of a game, casual gamers tend to forget using a shield and rely on rolling when fighting a boss because to their eyes, their attacks look too speedy, powerful, and random and it confuses them, and end up beating it by using some very powerful weapon/magic/item or wiki tactics or else by randomly mashing buttons, but on the stream, she was carefully observing his attack patterns, not forgetting using a shield, changing strategies, and beat it a "clean" way.

what amazed me is she can play a difficult action game such a strategic and careful way. i find her das streams very fun too. ive watched many vtubers playing from games but her das streams are something more fun and different than others.

I can't believe the firebomb strategy actually worked, no idea if the chat gave her a hint or she just thought of it herself but I've never really seen people resort to that, at least successfully. And she not only uses a shield effectively, she remembers to drop it to manage stamina. It's a small thing but I've seen so many new players forget about that. I love watching beginners play Souls games in general and Kanata is definitely among the more successful and entertaining ones.

She discovered the shield is effective against massive attacks very early on when fighting the asylum demon and fortunately that knowledge stuck. I think the fact that she rewatches her own streams and clips a lot probably helps. Not many people go back and rewatch footage of their own gameplay with a critic eye in order to learn and improve. Plus, she can read the chat replay as well for point-by-point feedback, since there's somebody in chat pointing out something she could have done better almost all of the time. More importantly, this new NLO art is gorgeous and I love how it reflects Kanata's growth when compared with his last one.
