If you think about it, the whole vtuber “family” thing is really strange. The artists are just doing a job they’re being paid for, it’s not like they actually have a real connection with the vtubers they’re drawing. Most of them are kind and like chuubas so they support their “children”, and all vtubers can appreciate being shilled so it works out usually. But siblings? There’s even less of a connection. If you think about it logically having complete strangers wanting to act like they’re close to you because they happened to hire the same artist as you is completely bizarre.

It's kind of the Japanese thing of respecting your superiors and not wanting to overstep boundaries for the chuubas themselves. Whatever small chuuba shares an artist with Fubuki or Kuzuha would get shamed as a leech if they just started spamming their relationship (see Uto to Amelia), but if the artist brings it together, it's a comfier atmosphere, as the artist of course commands respect regardless of anyone else's standing on their own. And seeing as they're the mother/father of everyone there, it's of course called a "family".
