We need a third gen because fully half+ the current girls just do not stream on any given day. In recent months we've had entire days without a single holoEN stream, sometimes such days are followed up by 1 (one) (uno) stream to boot.

It used to be that Myths would usually go between 5-7 days a week without much interruption the first year. Council broke that streak only two months in with Sana but then also Kronii and Mumei being flakey as fuck (kronii still is flakey as fuck and Sana is in fuckin' dead now). We had only about a two month window where EN was actually running on full steam before weird shit started to impact it, ever. EVER. It's been sputtering in fits and starts ever since and we are happy these days to have even ONE day of things looking like they kind-of clawed back to normal i.e at least like 3-4 streams total out of 10 people but it has literally never lasted like this without someone taking some big break of some kind. Even in this "good" time we've had the past like.. two days, Gura has still been absent the entire time, and Ina was absent for 3 months before that etc. Clearly the current talents just do not have the will to put in the streaming they used to, this is empirical fucking fact.

So the only way to remedy it is bring in fresh faces and hope even one or two of those are willing to keep up the pace - they need to not hire unmotivated/uncaring shitters who don't know a thing about hololive; they will not appreciate what they have and not understand the background their fanbses came from etc. But clearly EN management has been failing at this consistently.. but so has JP too sometimes, HoloX is not 5 Koyoris, Laplus is a serious fucking shitter and got through all those applicants. I don't expect them to be flawless every time with the picks but they definitely could be doing better than they are now.

More than one of the girls have talked about looking forward to having new kouhais to play with. It is not about being sick of the girls we have, I watch every stream from my oshi and pick and choose the streams I watch from the other talents.

New blood reinvigorates the whole branch, more fun collabs, more potential for kino dynamics to emerge, new viewers brought in and hungry newcomers might motivate some of the talents who don't stream as much to step it up. Having EN3 many months ago like we should have would have avoided the recent dearth of streams we had, having more talents for coverage takes the pressure of the existing ones too, avoiding the burnout we have clearly saw this year.

For Hololive to get a new branch, at least one of the members from the last gen needs to reach 1 million subscribers.
Gen 1 reaches 1m - Gen2 debuts.
ID1 reaches 1m - ID2 debuts, shortly after ID2 reaches 1m - ID3 debuts. Kobo quickly gains 1m - ID4 is announced.
HoloX is a failure and no one has reached 1m yet - no HoloJP7.

Mori went full retard with her two bases plan and overloading herself with even more work than previous years
Kronii, Mumei, Bae are effectively part-timers for IRL reasons
Sana died
The only fairly reliable streamers are Fauna and Kiara, and recently even Fauna has been a bit flaky
All it took was a wave of illness hitting half of EN to crash the branch last december

To top it all off, holofes prep this year is worse than last year since now CouncilRyS also has to prepare for it rather than just Myth
Unless you can somehow get everyone streaming consistently or debut EN3, this lack of "roster depth" will plague EN for the foreseeable future

That still leaves 50% of the blame with the current members.
They can't even fill a Mario Kart roster without including ID like they're EN jr, even if everyone was actually available. That's fucked up in its own right, and not fair to ID. But inevitably, 25% - 50% of the EN members are MIA at any given time, and getting more 3 people to agree on a time outside their usual streaming time is a bitch on a good day.
Now with the fes coming up, there will be more days where nobody streams anything and nothing really happens. We'll probably get one collab before the fes as a hype stream and spotty delivery otherwise.
EN3 is needed to fill in deadhours after deadhours after deadhours, since EN1 and EN2 mostly don't bother anymore.
