I'd argue the games were never really that bad when she was with others. It's her solo experience that completely soured her on MC and probably why she still agrees to play Apex since she never tried it on her own. So I don't think that's comparable. Throwing shit at a wall(literally) can be fun with friends. Dead Space 3 can be fun with a friend. Early Takamori stands out but I think it was mostly a clash of how all parties involved imagined it pre-debut and how it turned out at which point they didn't know what to do with it. The current dynamic is still lore-friendly anyway, it even makes more sense. Death is affectionate towards the only one who returns again and again while the phoenix ends up finding a small positive thing in an otherwise unpleasant event of dying.

I think the most glaring example of this being incorrect was the Ender Dragon collab when she jumped off the End with gear. She was so distraught and overwhelmed that she just walked away for a bit and felt like she letting the others down (which is usually what kills her mood). Even in the most recent APEX collab, she would get audibly frustrated when she made a stupid button press or mistake and go with the "it's fine, it's fine. Don't worry about me"
