The worse mistake you can do with Gura is that her hair is white with blue highlight not blue. And maybe forget her pockets on the side of her hoodie.
But Kobo has so many fucking details on her clothing, beyond the hair and face, you will 100% fuck it up.
Gura is so iconic that just a bunch of colors on a stick in the right order is enough to identify her, Kobo has clothes are just white and greyish with a transparent coat, you would never guess her with just the colors.

Any professional will tell you simplicity is key, look at Mario he’s just a fat fucking plumber, but has specific shapes that are easy to recall.

The only thing that hindered Gura is umi’s incompetence and cover’s failure to give her a 2.0 after their fuckup hiring process

OP, a lot of the time. The most legendary of designs are often the most simple and the least complicated. Because they are far easier to recognize than whatever overcomplicated bullshit a lot of these indie or other vtubers tend to have.
