It did pre-Hololive. She got the job, had a lot of fun, but had the impending visa experation limiting her. On top of that, she knew once she was back in Austria that she wouldn't be able to go back for a while. Now that she's got easy access to Japan agaon, expect 3-4 visits for 2-3 weeks at a time over the next year. She's talked about wanting to go a lot just for access to the studio for 3d recording (because she's the only one who REALLY gives a shit about the idol side) and wants to use it now that it's an option. Expect to see her in a lot more 3d celebrations, JP channel collabing, and offcollab talk in the futurer.
She's wanted this from Hololive. This is her bread and butter, and it's the reason why she was begging Cover for genmates in the EU and an option past home3d. Korone has been studying English on the side for roughly 4 fucking years because there's a significant demographic on her channel that is English speaking. I bet if she did another English only stream today she'd last alot longer than last time. You can track her English skills through her clips over time if you don't want to take my word for it. There is definitely a difference between how she uses "loanwords" before and now.

Can confirm. Been "learning" nip for almost 3 years now. A year in I started playing a game series that allows reading at my own pace, but needed a guide to get through the first two. After ~6 more months I no longer needed a guide to help through parts as I understood things better. At this point I probably only need to look up a new word (or an old one I haven't seen in too long) once every 5-10 dialog boxes for the game series I am playing.
I cannot, in any capacity, output in nip though. Save for the most basic baby tier phrases any weeb would know. Of course, this is my fault for not doing proper learning, as I've neglected grammar. It's just been daily anki for vocabulary, and then reading whatever I feel like in a day, which most days amounts to nothing. I could have finished the game series I am playing after a year if I weren't such a lazy cunt about it, but here I am almost 2 years later and only 1/5 through the 7th game of 11, and totaling less than half the total expected playtime of the series so far.

Anon you don't need to study grammar to understand/speak japanese. The only grammar you need is a simple guide and you are ready to go. Your only problem in my opinion is that you are playing a game written for kids, so probably you will not pick up a lot of vocabulary or encounter advanced grammatical stuff. And ye you should increase your language immersion time after 2 years if you can.
