Unicorns are stereotyped as some of the worst part of the vtubing community, and probably for good reason. There are so many fewer female chuuba viewers that if they had the same viewing habits as males did there would probably only be at most a couple of 4 view males out there. I think as a 0-1 view male it's easier to get male viewers than female viewers because females just don't even give such low view chuubas a chance.

Yeah, they definitely outnumber females. From what I have seen I do think the top male twitch chuubas do have a really high ratio of female viewers though. My guess would be well over half. As a low view male I would estimate at best like 1 in 20 of my viewers are female. This is all just estimations though, it is admittedly difficult to judge a viewer's gender, and I dont think twitch provides data on your viewers gender at all. Not to mention that trans and gay viewers make things even more difficult to judge.

i really think it depends on some factors because some low views do have female support i'm pretty sure
i remember when i was starting out I'd definitely get a mix of male and female viewers, probably around a 65/35 ratio on average of m/f but some streams do end up having more women talking

Yeah, it probably varies greatly depending on the person. I think though that females just don't tend to crave or enjoy that sort of very intimate stream experience that can only be provided by a 1 view in the same way that many males seem to.
I can only guess as to why, but I suspect females in general are just less likely to be extremely socially isolated than males are. From my experience viewers who seek out chuubas with 0 audience tend to be very lonely people.
Females seem to like fangirling from a distance in a large group of like minded fan girls, perhaps this is because they feel safer like this. My guess is that females seem to fear that giving attention to a chuuba with 0 audience would be misinterpreted as some kind of attempt at romance, and are probably rightfully afraid of some of the crazy things that could happen if that were to happen. Better is the semi-anonymity that is provided by being a part of a large group.

I'll be honest with you, I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to adjusting the levels and ensuring they sound alright on stream. I can hear the back track just fine, but I look at my OBS levels and I see it peaking into the red when it's barely at 1/2 volume on youtube, so I turn it down but then I might sing too loudly. But that isn't why they were drawn. They were drawn to be anime interpretations of suits. That is to say, cute, fun, escapist fantasy takes on the subject that make the real world's harsh maturity more palatable. And on that measure, they do incredibly well. These are profitable designs. They take something that is intimidatingly serious and reshape it into something more romantic and approachable.
If you want to be yet another I Am Very Smart suited vtuber, go right ahead. There's a small audience for that here. But if your goal is to play an anime character for a living wage, the "sartorially illiterate" design is the correct approach.

100%. A png will always beat a vroid. You can have a way more unique identity without the hassle of stretching vroids capabilities (which in themselves are limited). In this oversaturated medium, it really isn't. You can have the best model with the most polished body that women will cream themselves but you won't keep them for long if not good at being entertaining or don't have some kind of talent to make you stand out. I've been a pngtuber for over a year and have made decent progress from 0. It's fun because you can do a lot more with the design and aren't constrained to vroid limitations. So what I've done is comm multiple PNGs of my model in different outfits throughout the year from different artists. It's a fun way to network and spice up your stream.

PNGtubing will put even more emphasis on you, the stream though since it typically can't emote as well as a rigged model. However, I still think it's better than a janky, generic looking vroid.

If your intended design is near 1 for 1 is there really a disadvantage between png and vroid? You can still have the goal of a live 2d as well. Just curious.
On that note, what alternatives are recommended for live2d/vtube studio? Only reason I ask is because it chugs my CPU, but have no issues in that regard with VSeeFace/3d models.

This is actually something I've been thinking about for some time now. Considering the limitations (what you can say or do, what games you can play), you really need to carefully consider if the benefit (the increase in visibility) would be actually worth it. If you're a 1view or a low 2view, probably. If you're a 4view or high 3view, however, it becomes questionable, with smaller corps probably being completely out of question because your visibility would actually decrease while you still suffer with new limitations. At that point, it's probably better to remain an indie.

I love Spreadsheet Anon but it barely covers the chuubas who are on already we should not add sections.
Type of Content seems more important section to add to but most streamers just have Variety, Zatsu in their list. The ones who have more on the list are usually not very accurate if you check Twitchtracker its really weird picks for most to be honest. Looking at the list I cant even guess who Spreadsheet anon actually watches. But expecting Spreadsheet Anon to pick the strengths of each male and game types they like most is a big job and I get why he doesnt. Its a lot of males lol. But that makes a section like 'Viewers Also Watch" recommendation section way too hard.

I use sullygnome twitch tracker is nice but its information is much spottier, especially for small 1 views for pretty much all the info on the spreadsheet. Mostly I just record the top games that chuubas had streamed at the time I added the information. In some cases if there was an obvious genre or type of game they focused on I put that down, but this was surprisingly uncommon. Most chuubas seem to have no real focus on types of games and just play fotm or random games with no real pattern to it.

For most of the chuubas on the list it was done months ago, and i limited the info to about 3 months of information, so the info is pretty out of date for a lot of them. But there was some method to my madness, and the info was fairly objective even if it doesn't make much sense any more.

I do plan on updating this column every once in a while but I have been pretty busy streaming and working full time. My method should be a bit more objective once I do that since I have changed my process over the months since I started the spreadsheet. Ill get to it when I feel a particularly strong burst of autistic energy some day. God im actually 4 threads behind in adding males, I need to catch up.
