Oh yeah, that's actually a pretty good point. I'm not completely up to date on the travel restrictions even if Japan has relaxed them to some point, but I do know a lot of forms nowadays ask if you've showcased signs of symptoms that are consistent with COVID in recent weeks, in which case I can see the stuff she had to deal with earlier in the month might have ruled her out then and there.

Adding in the unfortunate development with Timecat, I don't fault her if she felt like she needed to dip out at that point if she was part of the original plans; a vacation isn't always the magical solution to help take your mind off of bad things.
