My plan is to work my lore into my persona in such a way I can switch to it flawlessly when needed. I am a natural born liar and doing that is not really that difficult for me. A devil(?) trying to integrate in human society seems to be like a workable shtick, but I will have to bulletproof myself a bit more with the ideas.

Realistically speaking it's difficult. You'd have to fill a specific niche which is approachable by a lot of people.

Female Vtubers have it generally easy because there are more lonely men on the internet than there are lonely women. You can even see it through the memes, working for your waifu and whatnot.

If you're smart enough, you could maybe try to cover a subject which isn't generally covered in the VT community.

I cannot help you with that subject, because I don't know what that is.

I've already done some streams using facerig and free models to have fun, but now I really wanna build a character and have fun role playing it (which I think is the fun behind vtubing). If you stress yourself saying you have to get x number of viewers, do a shit ton of networking, x amount of interaction from your chat, x amount of donations etc, you'll just burn out on it. Big misconception, its harder to get an audience by playing a niche game but the few viewers you get will likely be more passionate about the game itself than you.
