I have read everyone's opinions and comments. I have watched Apple's stream.
I've shared my views before and this is my effort post take on this.

First just let me say I respect this person's commitment, the model isn't really rigged but it sorta moves a little. The background and the background sounds are nice.
This person put on some effort to have a good debut.
But it does seem very clear that some voice change is going on. Now the options are either dumb woman who wanted to have a higher pitch, dumb but possible I have seen it before among vtubers. Or it's a guy.
I'm gonna be honest I don't want another guy to join, first of all because I don't want to have another guy because I'm a cute girl enjoyer but second because opening the door to one male will just lead to more wanting to get in, we have to gatekeep or else people will just ruin this.
That's not me being an asshole that's just a fact, time and time again this is 100% proven, when people don't gatekeep properly shit gets ruined.

That said this might be a controversial opinion, but the fact that this person acts like a girl and did the effort to sound like one makes the situation slightly better for one simple reason: this filters a hell lot of guys who would like to join.
Let me explain, if a guy joined and acted like a guy other guys would look at that and think they can join too. And every new guy that joined would make it easier for the next guy to join, there would be less resistance to it. And that leads to the slippery slope of more guys joining and eventually overtaking the group.
This is still mostly a girl's company with 2 grand fathered guys that have been there from the start and a trap everyone likes. That's fine, now no more guys.
But this person isn't gonna have that domino effect because most guys don't want to do all this effort to babi their way. The amount of guys that are willing to do all this is a minority compared to all the regular guys that would like to join as male models or using a female png but still acting like males.
This sets a bad precedent, we still don't want babis either.
But let's say we took a bullet but it missed any vital organ that would kill us immediately.

This is an L for FlaVR, but it could have been worse.
Personally I'm not interested in watching this guy, everyone is free to do whatever they want and I'm actually interested in seeing how many views he eventually gets. He's actually pretty cute so who knows he might find an audience into this.
If it was up to me everyone should ignore him and hope he leaves but in the end it really is up to the FLaVR members, if Sena and the rest of the gang welcome him into the group we are stuck with him.

Stream was pretty dull up until she started playing LLTQ, but she did pretty good. If this goes full Niji route this it's basically dead to me. It was pitched as a Hololive-esque thing in a Hololive-esque company by a Hololive fan and for the most part that's what it has been so far.

2 guys out of nearly 10 members, very bearable. They might be on full collabs with every member present but many collabs won't have them, chances of having them along on a 1 on 1 collab any girl are extremely low too.
If you want to avoid the guys in FlaVR at the moment it's not a challenge at all. I think the only collab I avoided was the recent one with everyone involved.

In Nijisanji you can take it for granted that every collab will have guys, they are unavoidable.
Big or small collabs, they will be there. There's even a good chance any of the girls is gonna have a one on one with a guy, they've even had guys along the girls on single player games just so they can react so not even that is safe, they show up uninvited to their streams and join voice chat.
Counting collabs an average NijiEN girl's week might 20% to 60% streams with a guy.
It's impossible to watch collabs or keep up with an oshi without having to end up watching guys in there.
And sometimes they can build relationships together that grow stronger than with their community that can lead to outright them mockery it.

Personally I can accept Apple because he looks, sounds and acts cute but I don't want it to slippery slope further.

You are redefining what it was "mean" to be by your own made up standards to fit the narrative that suits your views.
This wasn't "meant" to be anything more than Pippa's stream. If you wanna get meta the "company" was meant to be a Hololive/Phase Connect/Project Prism/Production Kawaii,idol type company. It was created in a Phase Connect stream, where this is the type of content, by Pippa, who is a fan of said content, and voted by an audience who is also a fan of that content.
So having guys around, male vtubers or babis, is simply not in the scope of what it was "meant" to be.
The fact that people actually took this as a real opportunity to stream is something that came on top of the original intention and every one of the streamers involved has their own priorities behind it, most do it for fun.
But so do we as an audience and with such a small viewership a core audience like us actually matters a lot.
Consider that all of the characters beyond the OG and TOXIC are basically made by this thread, that actually gives a sort of ownership to us.
So when an anon creates a character along with everyone's input and clearly wishes it to be played by a girl but a guy takes that's going against what the "company was "meant" to be be, as well as what the audience wishes it to be, and what their creator wanted it to be.
