You know what irks me about all this? They publicly threw Vesper under the bus by announcing that he was suspended but then refused to disclose the reason why. Alright, now I see your confusion. JP laws are very anal. They need REASON for a termination, it can't be a small thing. If you fire someone, you need to have every single speck of proof documented and logged and neatly filed away in a condition it could be presented to a court if it comes to that. If there are interviews, they should be recorded AND transcribed for safety. They would need to log almost everything as well, not just proof he did something bad, since he could claim "there was another conversation where X told me I can say this to them, you're firing me unreasonably" or "That's an inside joke between me and X, it doesn't mean that it means [non-offensive thing]" and since their laws are genuinely that fucking anal, they could eat a loss over it if it starts getting messy and dragging on and on. It's easier if they're some office company in Japan and every exchange comes either in the office or over some business phone or application and the usual firings there would be for groping some woman which is easily provable and more or less a one and done deal, but something like international business where they need to go over loads of chat records for different official platforms and communication channels the talents have is different and a whole new can of worms.
