Catching up with the custom, Astel and Izuru were talking about how they haven't played in so long their skills aren't what they used to be, and this is the level of skill you should expect from them in customs nowadays. They think if they grinded Apex they could get back to their previous level, but the passion is no longer there (personally I think that lack of passion is a bigger factor for their performance than their skills deteriorating).

Astel also mentioned that in the past there was the incentive to make an impression, but now that everyone's become stronger it's harder.

You got the answer on guidelines so I'll just say don't worry about this. While Izuru knows a little English he certainly isn't fluent and he sings songs in English. Astel too. I'd be surprised if they knew the meaning of every song they've sung unless they look up the translation every time. If you're concerned just look up the translation of the song so you can properly convey its meaning.

I know it sucks if you liked the original Aruran, but ultimately their original designs can be a hit or miss with them since it's the one time they have 0 input on how they'll look. I do think Flare's redesign influenced his decision but not in a they share the same designer so he wants one too kinda way, but because it gave him hopes that he could receive the same treatment, and then Astel's 3D debut with his new default look it only made the sentiment stronger.
