You got to remember Cover really expanded way, way too fast. Holos took off like a rocket partly thanks to the coof. I remember even Pekora had maybe 300K subs last year around this time.

Look at it from their perspective. Cover was founded in 2016, and they spent like a year building a VR table tennis game that went nowhere. Then Sora debuted in 2017, they released an AR stream app that also went nowhere.

Q2 2018 - 1st gen, raised 2 million USD in funding from venture capitalists
Q3 2018 - 2nd gen
Q4 2018 - Gamers - streaming games begins proper

So basically it's very plausible that Cover only started going into the black in mid-2019. Until then they had no stable source of income and were just burning runway. Because the alternative is raising the cut by a fixed amount amongst all holos and calling it goods production which will create dissatisfaction, especially with the massively variable costs and expected profit of merch among holos. A big problem is that people trying to spend don't have any real smart decisions to spend on. There's a lot of liquid floating out there, so the second anybody dips you see swarms of people buying in so that they can move SOMETHING, which causes the entire economy to bloat and give us "green hills forever". I think this is part of the reason people keep asking for money sinks.
If the inflation issue can be alleviated it'll go a long way to making this game better.

Gura (and EN in general) will pretty much always be the smartest investment because this game is based on numbers, and they get good numbers compared to everyone else. If you wanted to introduce more power play coins, you'd have to specifically call some out that can go toe-to-toe with EN numbers or at least pull volatile but generally good numbers. Tsunderiacoins would be more valuable than Nijicoins.

Yea I worded my initial post a bit poorly. I meant to say that divvies create way more inflation than adjustments right now. I think that would be a pretty good idea but I think that system would make decision making even easier than it is now. Currently we do have slight changes the best performing coins. The previous week it was Ayame/Noel/Korone/Coco. This week was a bit of a nobrainer (Gura). In the new system, the best performing coins will drop the most relative to the other coins, they will be the obvious pick to buy more of once divvies hit so every week would end up with the same coins as the best performers aside from one off events.

Removing Divs or making divs monthly would greatly alleviate the inflation.

Options are basically just free money, essentially automatic adjustments. They'd give poors the ability to quickly accumulate wealth if you can trade on margin, but they'd also let the rich get way richer. The way I'd see them working is you buy them from the broker and not real players and then they resolve at adjustment time. If the stock goes up then your call lets you buy multiple shares at a fixed pre-adjustment price and you can sell them for profit. If the stock adjusts down then you buy back what you shorted earlier in the day and you've made money. I do think Margin trading would be hilarious, you could get margin-called based on stock movement over the course of a day, i.e. you short a stock but it goes up $500 because of a big guerilla stream or a meme video like Fubuki's Among Us (which got mediocre views but pumped her stock like $600 in speculation) or you buy a stock based on a huge stream that gets cancelled (i.e. that one live Kanata had planned that had equipment trouble) and you lose tens of thousands because the broker margin calls you.

Options are speculation with little risk. You pay a premium, a fraction of what it would cost to buy the stocks outright, to secure either the right to purchase them at a current strike price (a call) or sell them at the current strike price (a put)
Let's say a stock costs 2500. You pay 250 for a premium on a call/put.
The stock goes up to 3000 on your call. You exercise your option and sell the stock. You've made 250 (500, but you lost 250 to the premium) on the stock. If it goes down to 2000 instead, you would have lost 500 but because a call is the Option and not the obligation to purchase you're only actually out the 250 premium.
A put is basically the opposite. You think the stock is going to go down, so you buy a put. if it goes down to 2000, you still get to sell it for 2500. A lot of this is oversimplified and doesn't account for why someone would sell Options, but you're just concerned with the buying side anyways.
A short is a little bit like a Put, but with more risk.
In a short, you sell someone else's stock at current market price with the promise you will return it a future date. So you sell their stock for 2500, it drops to 2000, you buy it back at 2000 and pocket the 500. You made more than the guy who paid a premium for the put, but if the stock went up to 3000 you'd be out a full 500 so there's a lot more risk. A put is a lower return, lower risk method and a short is a higher return, higher risk method. Outright buying a stock is a higher return, higher risk method of making a call.

Assuming this is decently accurate and still holds relatively true, you would need 300k to pump her barely $100, ignoring the stock's price going upas you pump it.
At that rate (which is, again, a very very rough and drastic lowball estimate), even if somebody with, say, YFP or Mogu's level of money (about 3.5m) were to completely liquidate and try to pump Gura as high as they could, they could MAYBE pump her +$1100. Estimating for increased costs, 3.5m wouldn't even be enough to get her up 4 digits.
Basically, no one person can possibly even hope to pump Gura. It would have to be a collective effort by enough people to equal multiple Top-10 slots.
