/nasfaqg/ - NASFAQ General - Dial Up edition

Thread for the discussion of NASFAQ, a financial market simulator based on buying coins that represent the members of Hololive, Holostars, and some of their mamas.

This is a fake stock market game meant for to be played for fun, and is not a real stock market. Cryptofags will not be happy here, there is no real money involved. NO, you won't get better at stocks from this.

https://nasfaq.biz/info - READ THIS. No seriously, read it, faggot.

I made my account on April 9th 2021 from a link sent in Global (I don't think a thread existed at that point?) but only bought a few coins and then left and forgot about it.
About 10 months ago I made this post >>17180872
2-3 months later I decided to start actually playing this game, for some reason the realisation of how few people actually played inspired me to play myself. Since then I've had quite a bit of fun with the game, and I'd say I've been pretty damn good at it too.
I've never crabbed, I've been a 2 time trading champion (with a lot more irritating 2nd places), I've accomplished pretty much every goal I ever set out to achieve. Barring being Kiara's No.1 Superchatter but I can get that later
Early on I recognised I'd never get anywhere on my own Oshi's oshiboard so I decided to colonise the Oshiboard of an easier target, preferably one close tangentially to mine, so I went with Kobo (the other choice was Koyori), thankfully it seems nobody decided to really challenge me on that, at least not by a lot. I've had a few rivals, although not many of them even survived me, let alone surpassed me. And I've had a few comrades, specifically from Kusanagi Keiretsu! Without them I definitely wouldn't have had as much motivation to do everything I have. However, among all my peers, none have kept up with me. Thus with this final major achievement, reaching the top 20, I conclude that I have officially won Nasfaq! The rest of you can go home.

Hey all, trial dev here.
What do people think?
I can't do css so I've asked honk to fix the layout, ideally the 'transaction total' will be located in the bottom left corner under 'current price'.
Logic behind the - on buys is you lose that much, but I could just leave the - symbol off, if people prefer?

Mainly what I want is an easier way to see the price(s) of the coins when I bought them, as currently the only way I know of is to go to "my activity", and the activity page is very laggy for me. Hello /nasfaqg/, we’ve prepared a financial report for you, the Returns Report. Seeing how leaderboard place might not entirely reflect how well or how poorly you are doing anymore and the benchmark page is vulnerable to daily market fluctuations, we’ve collected data from all active players with open wallets. It was then processed and separated into four categories: Trading, Investing, Dividends, and Wallet Appreciation to gain more insight into your performance during the past week. Mutual Funds are treated similarly. The tables will use colors to denote possible membership of a corporation/group after they form.

>Changelog
• Reminder: you can request individual user ledgers, either as images or .csv files! Just message Triangle or Clocks.

>Game Activity
• There have been 187 players who made at least a single transaction in the past week, which is 4 less than last week.

>Income Overview
The data was collected during the 20:00 GMT+0 30.10.2022 to 20:00 GMT+0 06.11.2022 period. Data is sorted from largest to smallest total income during the data collecting period.
To define the sources of income:
- ‘Trading Profit’ stems from selling coins within the last week. Once a coin is sold, an associated ‘buy’ transaction is matched. The difference between buy price and sell price, deducted by buying/selling taxes, constitutes the trading profit column. Zeros in this column indicate a lack of sells, while negative values indicate inefficient trading. 14- or 21-dat average price of a coin from last week is used for coins that were bought more than a week ago, since the profits from the coin gaining price have already been counted as Investments or Appreciation.
- ‘Investments Profit’ stems from coins bought but not sold within the last week. In this case, the ‘profit’ is measured by taking the buy price and subtracting it from the 14-day average price of the coin. Negative values here indicate buying coins above their base price and holding them – large negative values are often the signs of heavy oshicoining or spending large amounts of money at once.
- ‘Last Dividends’ is simple enough. It’s the dividend payout from 05.11.2022 dividends.
- ‘Wallet Appreciation’ is the increase in net worth caused by market inflation. Bigger wallets have coins that remained ‘passive’ throughout the entire week are neither bought nor sold; however, the market is trending upwards, and thus they increase in value over time slightly. It’s calculated by taking the 21-day average price of a coin one week ago and now, subtracting them, and then multiplying by the amount of ‘passive’ coins in the wallet for every coin. Naturally, if the market were trending downwards, we’d observe a wallet depreciation, loss in value.
- ‘Auctions’ is the net balance of all auctions that finished within the data collection period. This factors in taxes on the side of the buyer, since the seller of the item only receives 95% of the bid.
- ‘Fund Profit’ are combined sources of revenue from funds: Investment, Trading, Inflation, and CEO/Board Commissions.
- ‘Share Payout’ is the dividends paid out to shareholders by mutual funds.
Additionally, ‘±’ and ‘Diff’ columns are added next to ‘Rank’ in the report. ± outlines the change in position from the last week’s report, with N/A meaning that said user did not figure in last week’s report for some reason. Diff is the difference in placing between the income/trading overview rank and real leaderboard rank. The more positive those numbers are, the better, since in ‘±’ case it means improvement from the last week, and in ‘Diff’ case that means that in terms of either overall or trading income you are ‘punching above your weight class’.

>Trading Overview
Using the same data, this breaks down all ‘active’ trading profits into categories and sorts players by total trading profits from last week.
‘Trading Income’ is the basic difference between the buy and sell price of coins, ‘Trading Taxes’ are losses from buy/sell taxes in the two matching transactions. Taxes differ based on multicoin count. ‘Trading Profits’ is simply income minus taxes.
‘Invested Amount’ is the amount of money converted into coins by unmatched buys. ‘Investment Income’ composes of ‘Invested Profit’ plus ‘Investment Taxes’, it’s highlighted for consistency. ‘Investment Taxes’ are losses due to taxes associated with those transactions. In theory, 4.5% is the minimal investment taxes/invested amount ratio, while 45% is the maximal ratio, representing only 1x buys or only 10x buys. ‘Invested Profit’ is the difference between the price the coin was purchased at and its average price, minus taxes; you can consider it a forced sell of every coin bought during the week at the average price.
‘±’ and ‘Diff’ columns function identically to the ones in Income Overview.
As you can see, trading differentiates the players a lot. While total income was correlated mainly with rank, especially high on the leaderboard, trading easily differentiates between players who are close to one another.

>Shares Overview
This section of the Returns Report focuses on profits given by Mutual Funds that excludes the weekly dividend payout, which is incorporated into the Dividends Overview instead. Shares Overview is sorted by ‘Total Shares Profit’.
‘Invested Amount’ is the amount of money converted throughout the week into Mutual Fund shares, ‘Invested Fees’ is the amount paid on top of the share price in fees for the Board, ‘Investment Profit’ is the difference between the buying price of a fund (if the share was bought throughout the week) and its 3-day average at the time of the Report, ‘Trade Profit’ are gains from selling fund shares. ‘Share Inflation’ is the rise in price of shares bought prior to the data collection period, and is the difference between the 3-day average at the start of the data collection period and 3-day average at the end of the data collection period. ‘Div Commissions’ is the commission for the Board and the CEO collected at dividends, as dictated by the ‘Shareholder/CEO Div%’ values of funds. ‘Fee Commissions’ are the commissions distributed to the Board and the CEO as the share is bought, using the Fee value of the fund.

>Dividends Overview
This section is meant to represent the long-term investment quality, represented by wallet composition. ‘Last Dividends’ displays the last dividends payout, ‘Average Net Worth’ is the average of daily net worth measured at 20:00 GMT+0 on every day pre-dividends, and ‘Approximate ROI %’ is ‘Last Dividends’ plus ‘Share Payout’ divided by ‘Average Net Worth’. The data is sorted from highest ‘Approximate ROI %’ to lowest. Since it is just an approximation and concerns a single payout, you should aim for being consistently high rather than always being on the top.
The ‘Dividends’ section of the Report has some limitations: it is susceptible to price fluctuations and since it only takes into account the last dividends, it will favor newer players and oshicoiners of the top coin(s) over people with wallets that are better diversified for week-by-week stable dividend income.

>Income by Source
In this table, the total income of the past week was split into its core components, indicating how much every element contributed to the weekly profits. When a component brought losses, it was skipped so all components would sum up to 100%. This table is sorted by rank.
Higher-ranked players rely almost exclusively on dividends and wallet appreciation for profit. Trading has a maximum profitability cap associated with it since the number of trades you can make in a single cycle is limited.
On the other hand, trading can make up the bulk of income for the newer players It remains the primary method of climbing since it heavily differentiates between players, while dividends are more or less the same percentage-wise.
Auctions are a niche source of income most of the time, but can explain much of the rapid movement at later pages of the leaderboard.
Wallet appreciation can be a major source of profit or losses, depending on the direction of the market.
Mutual Funds includes share price inflation, trading and investment gains/losses, and CEO/Board commissions.
Shares Payout is, in essence, similar to dividends, except that it is projected to increase over time due to the growth of funds.

>Funds Overview
Funds data is sorted from largest to smallest total net worth at the data collecting period, same as in the game.
To define the sources of income:
- ‘Trading Profit’ stems from selling coins within the last week, same as for the individual players’ report.
- ‘Investments Profit’ stems from coins bought but not sold within the last week, same as for the individual players’ report.
- ‘Total Dividends’ is the total pool of dividends that was then divided by the number of shares and distributed to shareholders.
- ‘Fund Appreciation’ is the increase in net worth caused by market inflation, same as for the individual players’ report.
All of those are added to get the ‘Total Weekly Profits’. Since those funds have very different total net worths, it is then divided by average net worth over the last week to get ‘Avg. Returns’, roughly assessing how much a fund has gained compared to its net worth. Please note that this is only an estimate due to the inclusion of ‘Investment Profit’ column, and that the data for fast-growing funds might be slightly inaccurate in terms of their real returns.

>>37126460
>Funds Trading
This section functions identically to Trading Overview of individual accounts, except that it looks at the trades of mutual funds. It is sorted by total trading income.

>Disclaimer & Limitations
The data collection has several limitations:
• It does not include data from closed wallets.
• Inactivity is denoted solely by the lack of trades in the past week.
• If someone were to open and close their wallets over the week, it’d only count the open-wallet period.
• User had to exist at the moment the beginning of the week, when data collection started.
So, if you are active and want to see your performance in those reports, set your wallet to public!

Due to peculiarities of the data collection, there is a single case in which an active account would not be featured in the Returns Report, even with an open wallet. All three conditions have to be fulfilled:
• Account was created last year.
• Account’s wallet is open.
• Account never bought a coin.
In this single case, that account would need to be manually added. No active accounts fulfill those conditions right now. Nevertheless, if you do not appear in the Returns Report and would 1) want to 2) fulfill three criteria above, please send a direct message to Triangle Consulting.

That concludes the Returns Report. Are the results what you expected? Is there some functionality you’d want for us to implement? Feel free to discuss and give us feedback.

I strongly dislike the auto-trader entries being more than "one line" tall. It's already a pain to scroll through all the coins.

The Halloween event is now concluded! Please see the leaderboard for some trick-or-treating stats. Few small updates, trial dev has been working on some nice QOL of life updates that should be live soon, I'm working on revamping the fund trading interface to make it easier to see what you're buying and selling and how much cash is in question in addition to a few gacha updates that will show the available items and which ones you have/don't have. We're also working on changes to the taxation system slightly which we'll let you know about soon, and a final round of holostars IPOs, plus maybe fishing???. Thanks!

Even though I blew right past most of them, a lot of rivals I would of had for the longest amount of time were anyone who was near me when I was below top 100, particularly ranks 100-110 (those ranks are cursed I swear, I spent more time stuck there than it took me to go from 80th to 30th), such as Boom Boom, Kaczynski, Kanamori, Aki Love, Rainy Sky.
As for my conquest of the Kobo oshiboard I've had two pseudo-"rivals", although they seemed to be more incidental than intentional.
WTFamIdoing was the first hurdle, but I believed he just had 10k of every coin, but even still this was difficult for me because at the time I had a networth of just 1bil, but I got it done anyways and thought I'd be scot-free because I didn't notice anyone else with a Kobo count that surpassed any of their other coins, which is when Lolicon Rights came out of nowhere and took me off the Kobo Crown, while also having a networth many billions more than me (I was 3bil at the time)
But I wasn't just going to give up, but I knew just 10xing myself into oblivion wasn't going to work, so I decided to log exactly how much Kobo he bought per day and just buy x2 more than him, this went on for some time, but he never retaliated, which I must thank him for because if he did I stood no chance. (There are still a few players who could run me off but I just hope they don't)
Become Lamy would be my only real major rival after ranks 100 (he was in 110-100 hell with me as well) ((Sorry Potato!!!)), specifically I consider them my CEO/fund manager rival, their genius plays with funds are what inspired me to dissolve Temple of Trade and make Golden Calf.
In KK I don't exactly consider any of them to be "rivals" per say in the traditional sense but if I was forced to pick, Mas F, Potato, Kanamori and MLM were all pretty influential to me.
Tako Instruments and Priestess are my shareholder rivals, I guess.
And Joe is my auction rival I think he's everyone's auction rival actually?
Sorry to anyone who doesn't like having their name posted in the thread I know some are against that, but I think it's ok because it's gameplay related and not personality related? it was important to my gameplay at least, I think that's the distinction...

Tonight we're playing some high-stakes, ultra-chuuni Mahjong.
The rules will be a bit different, as there's a special event:
>At the start of each round, when the dealer is about to draw a tile, 3 tiles will be revealed from the tile wall and they will become Option Tiles
>Every time a player is to draw a tile normally or after a man, they can choose from one of the three Option Tiles
>The Option Tiles not chosen by the player will be kept
>Option tiles are visible to all players

New proposal : Lamy mode.
This would be a harder mode of nasfaq that follows after lamy. This would be done by being heavily taxed like Lamy >>37167425 and could bring in some new air to the game. The only way to levitate this tax is either from super chatting to lamy or being a gay femboy in global chat

Seeking feedback
