the problem is that cover likes the overprocessed pop sound. if they hire someone, it'll be someone who's good at that. the problem isn't getting them to hire a dedicated producer. the problem right now is changing cover leadership & management's actual tastes.

I think you all underestimate how hard it is to sing good, how difficult it is to improve it, and MOST importantly that to Cover and indeed to us EN vtubers are an entirely new thing. There's a learning curve here, a cultural one, which I don't think you have fully grasped. The expectations on one side and what our girls can deliver and do is still something to work out through time and trial and error.

We are essentially in uncharted waters.

I think that AS A WHOLE we're still in a learning curve on both sides, with the girls and Hololive trying to accomodate one another and find out what works and what does not. I stress that to the girls this must be... an unique experience where they have a clear idea how a waifu acts and so on, but never attempted to emulate it or know how. They are after all, western females by and large. The company is trying to both educate them on the how, see what works and what doesn't, and just learn from that.

It's a massive beta test run in a way but we're all along for the ride. Obviously they expect them to sing, so they absolutely NEED the experience of working together in that way, and to gouge their ability. I see no problem. They can't all be zingers, and I don't expect it.

I liked it, but not because of the quality of the arrangement, the production or the voices, but because the whole cast was featured, and this is their first full group music collaboration, something that doesn't happen every day because they are all scattered around the world, which fucking sucks.

Yeah, as a cover it was pretty bad. Other anons already pointed out that the way they mixed their voiced and tuned the girls (Kiara, Ina and Ame specifically) was utter garbage, and I agree. There is even a part where you can her Ame out of tune, so they didn't even commit to "fixing" her voice for this release.

Still, this was something they all recorded a long ass time ago, and by those standards this was pretty decent. The only thing these musical projects desperately need is a good fucking producer/mixer.

I'm still happy because Ina and Ame had their debut as Holo singers, and even if it sounded terrible, there's a lot to learn, both for them and for management, from this experience, so I'm expecting way better things for the future.

I think it's OK to be critical and shit on the cover and the people involved, but you should also be fair and recognize that, despite all that crap, I'm sure the girls were excited to participate on this and the release was some sort of milestone and achievement for them, so you should at least give them some credit for their efforts.
