I think chuubas with 3D models need to branch out more with VR. There's a large opportunity with mixed reality applications like Liv to see genuine reactions in the VR games rather than having the model just banished to the corner screen to ppay Apex the milli9jth time.

We You will make it, anon. One day for sure.
But be wary, it should be not VR, it should be BCI. As for reason on that you can't hug, you can't kiss, you can't touch her hair. I never thought i would want all these feelings(over watching on monitor i thought i really don't need this), but in the end it was something i wished over. And i felt really empty in the end. Tech is right there to see your waifu, but tech will not be there for another 10-20 years to bring you all sensations and more than a dummy bot AI. It is a final and ultimate Gosling experience.

>when do you plan to upgrade?
Probably when the Index 2 comes out. Linux support is pretty important to me, so the Index is currently the best option. The recently announced Vive Pro 2 is likely to support Linux, but I'm pretty satisfied with my Index HMD right now. The resolution is fine when playing games.

>What do you think the future of VR and vtubers is?
My short term prediction of things that will be added to VR HCI wise will be a standardization of eye / face trackers on headsets. Unfortunately, full body will still not be common because it will still be expensive, buggy, or inconvenient. There will be an addition of an input class based off measuring your brain waves and will only be able to serve as a button press. Writing to your brain, for example to get rid of vertigo, will not be included yet due to the public being skeptical and whatever extra certifications you have to go through to add that.
>>3661857
That already happens. I have done it myself in a vtuber's participation stream. Even large vtubers like Sora from Hololive have met up with fans in VR.

>There will be an addition of an input class based off measuring your brain waves and will only be able to serve as a button press.
VR is useless until you have a proper input device for movement.
No I do not want to have a screen mounted to my face that can sync with the camera direction in a 3D space and then jump around IRL for shit tracking.
Read brainsignals and stop the body from acting when it receives signals. Information input with the screen and headphones is already good enough. Would probably even be good enough with a traditional screen if the head movement can be parsed from brain signals. Maybe I am stupid, but i dont see the advantage of having my entire FoV as a screen. Is it really that much more immersive?

we will all be virtual in 10 years

I am talking about short term. What is currently possible and can be polished for consumer usage.
The roll out and advancement of reading and writing to the brain will be incremental. I similarly think that using a screen and headphones will be more effective than trying to write signals to the brain without producing actual light or sounds / vibrations.
I wouldn't say that VR is currently useless. I enjoy the experience it currently offers quite a bit. I am sure it will be better in the future, but I wouldn't rate it so low.
