it's still applicable to other art styles. i'm tired of seeing older male characters looking like pic related with zero emotions or expressions. it's all just stoic shit with a tiny mouth. gives shitty muted expressions. try playing a horror game with a face like this.

if you really wanted to you could just ask any old artist you like to make riggable art for you, assuming you know what that all entails or can find a rigger that can help them, but it'll be costly since the art side takes a significant amount of work especially for someone not used to it.

characters that have actual expressive faces would be a start. deform the entire face.

look at the grin on the bottom right, the eyebrows overlapping the eyes at the top. the way the eyebrows lift the eyelids on the right, the wide movement between the open mouth at center bottom.

>> No.3498078

>>3497787
I know how to rig Live2D and how the 2D facetracking programs work, lets see what can be done
>look at the grin on the bottom right
Would require an expression toggle due to the scale and a significant amount of work for the artist
>the eyebrows overlapping the eyes at the top
easy, just a western artstyle thing, but would need an expression toggle depending on how much you want the brow to be able to move around without getting spazzy as hell
>the way the eyebrows lift the eyelids on the right
easiest thing to do that you pointed out
>the wide movement between the open mouth at center bottom.
requires an expression toggle if you want to do it without fucking up mouth tracking from the tolerance it would require to not do it on accident when talking normally

there's a bit of a trend here, I think
if you want something like this, you're going to need something much more advanced than conventional Live2D trackers, even then I don't think even you would want to make these kinds of faces regularly, it'd get tiring pretty quick. You want to become a cartoon character, and that's not something facetracking can easily deal with without a significant investment.

I've been thinking of a more /m/ oriented design. However, I'm unsure of how viable something like a mono eye design would be for live 2d. I can't say I've seen anything like it but maybe it's just buried under the many other chuubas.

Would it be possible to rig a single centered eye with a broader horizontal field of movement? Is a mouth needed and how possible would it be to set up a non traditional one like say if I wanted it to overlay the eye to create an effect like it's flashing during speech?

When would you say it's actually disadvantageous to go corporate and better to stay indie?
Is it only interesting if you want to appeal to the already established broad market and its common interests?
This does imply your stream channel isn't already too big yet and you bring the basic requirements for being a decent streamer.

>go corporate?
unless you're in Hololive or Nijisanji, i think it's better to stay indie. main benefit of a corporation is the support, if they don't have the resources to support you, why tie yourself to them?

>interest appeal
there's a reason why popular things are popular. for example, content reaction channels are still alive and well. Snuffy, Nemu, Pren, and a bunch more vtubers are doing exceptionally well with most of their content being a split of some video games and viral clip reactions. if you want to grow big, you gotta appeal to broader bases. just how math works.

>> No.3504280

>Nijisanji

Nijisanji supports their talents less than some startups, their only perk is naming as of now.

As for whether or not joining a company is a good idea >>3502957 depending on the contract and company I'd usually say yes. As long as the contract is fair, the company has capital and supports you then generally signing is better. Company VTubers pretty much always have a head start over indies. They have the promotion to make them do better faster.

>> No.3505276

>>3502957
Why not take all the help you can get? If the contract lets you be yourself, take the support and backing. Any little bit of help you get from a company means more time for you to put into your content

twitch's algo won't be able to tell if someone is from /here/, but it'll track the type of people who interact with you and you interact with (ex. if you're chatting and following a /here/chuuba) when you go live, you may appear in the "People who watch [/here/chuuba] might also enjoy [you]" and you'll appear as a recommendation for 'similar channels'.

These two go together for me, and it's Calli. What inspired me to follow in her vtubing steps was the balls she had in telling vtweeters to make content, and then releasing that song just to assert her point. When all that happened I thought: "maybe my content will not be the best when starting, or won't be as different, but as long as I do somehing like Calli said something will come out of it".
>which wvt vtuber you'd like to collab with?
I'd say Melody and Ironmouse, but if I were to be honest I don't follow too many western vtubers so I'd need to look around a bit more to get a bigger list. Aspirations aside, I want to collab with a few friends/acquitances: Iona, a Spanish-speaking trap vtuber; and a couple of friends who are regular Twitch streamers. I want to collab with and support more malechuubas, mainly because there is some very funny and talented ones that deserve far more attention. now my fear is, is the mere association with males gonna turn viewers off me? or am I just being schizo about this? I play a bratty, younger sister role and that's my main appeal since I am not very funny or good at games so my viewers might not appreciate it.

Between cyber and Akio, i guess it’s up to you. From what i know about cyber, either you get a premade model or choose your own, so thats your preference. They’re promising bc they’re based in SF, not Asia. Akio however seems like a fun company and I personally like that they’re pushing tech/game voice acting on top of vtuber support. Good luck anon!

I've drawn my own character, but I'm currently working with someone to make the live2d model. In the meantime, I'll be making content with an avatar. Think I can make it with this voice?
