But the fact she keeps things relatively seiso and doesn't have an obnoxiously fake voice (like fallen shadow for example) helps keep her in a positive light. Most of the "loli" vtubers you see are just sluts cashing in on the fetish and its obvious. Or they're just normal hags with a loli avatar.

Overall Gura is non-offensive and cute, which combined with the massive brand name of hololive makes her popular.
She's basically just the mdonalds of the vtuber world. Not amazing or special, but reliable and always there for you.

I'm going to be honest anon, I think gura is pretty charismatic. But it does really piss me off to see people like this getting so much undue attention, when there's lots of other talented people out there too. Another thing that pisses me off is how little effort Gura actually puts in. How little creativity she has with her content. And for some reason that's being rewarded. It's kind of frustrating. I think, by rights, she should be punished for being lazy. But she's not, so she's getting more lazy. Her advocates don't even seem to realize they're enabling her bad behavior.

There's also the extremely toxic numberfagging aspect. Basically "I wont watch another vtuber because I only watch the highest number streams. It's so ridiculous, people aren't even giving smaller creators a chance. Instead it all goes to Gura, who's busy spamming Elden Ring and barely even cares about her job anymore. It's unjust.

That's just my opinions. I still think Gura has some talent.

As an indiefag, while I like my indies more its always a crapshoot what you get with them. And 90% of the time ones you like will just randomly decide to do a 180 and go to shit.

The best indies imo are the ones that have some association to actual work they do on the side. So singers, artists, etc... because they still have to keep a public face but are more able to branch outside of the generic flavor.
