YouTube viewership patterns are seasonal. The back to school drop is so noticeable that YT devs have made entire videos about it on their Creator Insider channel. This goes especially for the 18-24 group that we know most vtuber viewers belong to. College semester seasonality was masked by remote learning and general vtuber incline the past two years, but this year most colleges are back to in person or hybrid classes and there aren't any trends in the EN viewer space that could mask seasonal variation. Don't get me wrong, I fully count a seasonal recline as a recline, if there was still hype for EN then it would be obscured by general growth.
You can look at the same pattern last year on chart-anon's 30d average graphs. My guess is vod views and SC won't recline nearly as much as CCV does at the start of Sept. Also, Japan has entirely different school years and semester breaks compared to America.
