Supcom is unironically one of the greatest RTS games to play. It's heads and shoulders above everything else.
Do yourself a BIG favor and get the expansion, Forged Alliance (I think it's free, if it's not then it's "free" since the parent company for it is dead), and play Forged Alliance Forever, the Fan servers with fan patches that rebalance the game and add a whole bunch of games modes and bug fixes that are basically required on modern computers (Old Supcom had bizarre limitations like core and threading limitations that kept huge games from happening, which is one of the draws of Supcom.)

That's correct. Some games AI is good enough to face the top players, so if you play medium AI with viewers vs AI bots; you could have a gimmick that allows viewers to participate.

So Comp Stomp is generally and stereotypically where new players get their wits about the game they just bought and started playing (It was like this for all of the *craft games and Supcom, at least). But it is also known as the place where pretty good players just play the game and chill with friends.
So generally they are low difficulty and even having a single player leaving isn't the end of the game because they're just facing computers. If the vtuber were to do this, they could get their viewers to simply carry the games for them while they are busy interacting with chat/making the game fun with meme strats.
There used to be an AOE2 streamer called MBL that used to do this and see what he could get away with using the dumbest strats that chat suggested to him. He had a sizable viewerbase for streaming an RTS game.
