I wish more vsingers would make good usage of their models, especially if they're 3D. Sugar setting it up so that she can show how much she moves around during the song, leaning in and away from the mic, and generally just showing off how genki she is was pretty cool. I see. Recently vtubing is starting to take off in Korea so there's been an increase in vtubers that sing as well. I think some minor utaites have converted recently as well.

Also, just wondering. How do you evaluate singing talent? I'm not really into music so I'm not sure what constitutes good or bad singing honestly other than what sounds good to my ears.

If you like it, that's more then enough to be enjoyable, but beyond the basic of being on key and rhythm, really good singers are the ones who have a big range, able to go for high and low notes when called for; good control, whatever note they're singing doesn't waver though vibrato can be a positive; strong belts, where they're able to put power into their voice without screaming; and smooth transitions, sliding between notes rather then having to do a stop and start jump. People who aren't strong singers can still sound really nice if they work within their flaws if they have a nice voice, whether that's doing the gentle whisper singing that requires little range and no ability to belt, on slow ballads and never straying from that genre for example.

I agree that singing skill is irrelevant. If you want to make it big, you need to right connection and right label, that's it. There are a lot of shitty singers making banks with shitty songs. Of course I am not talking about Kafu.

She's on pitch. Decently resonant belting (by far her best feature). Can vary her dynamics (nice). There is some vibrato, but not as much as there should be. She also employs melisma for KR and EN songs. For JP songs I am left disappointed, since she can only sing the syllables in staccato (even though she is so smooth at EN songs).

Not a very difficult prediction to make.
The only company with a big enough popularity and reputation to cause instant retirements with a big smile on a vtuber's face is Hololive.
They recruited a talent from Re:Act for their last generation.
It's a lot easier to recruit someone with a proven track record of deliveries almost every day and 700-1000 viewers during the stream than an unknown no name.
You take almost no risks.
In their case the probability of them retiring after a few months because it doesn't fit them or having a yabee moment is 0.

They also may attract a different target group of viewers to Hololive.
The only issue may be that they are not menheras who can be easily controlled by the sociopaths in their management.
This difference is what would allow them to reach a different target audience, and may hint that Yagoo was directly involved in their recruitment.
If you look at who he recruited himself Sora and Miko would be good examples.

Recruiting vtubers popular on 4chan is a very good sign of future success potential and you can get talent early.

If Stella joined Hololive, it would have likely been through Madoka's initial attempt to join Hololive.
They both had the requirements to join and large viewer numbers for almost "indie" vtubers and could be part of a singer unit.

Madoka started cancelling or delaying her streams earlier and more often than Stella.
Maybe she was really sick, but after Stella used that same excuse for her graduation it made it less likely.
You could see a relation between those events as Stella also cancelled a few streams after that and they both graduated in a short amount of time.

The most likely explanation would be for discussions regarding their recruitment.
Those would come on short notice and have a higher priority, similar to what would happen with a sickness.

The possibility still remains it was another group which recruited them (which one?)
And of course the less likely possibility that they were really sick, but Stella was too energetic to make it believable.
In that case Madoka may have had health issues, and Stella could have decided to try a change after finding out she would be alone again, or maybe it had an effect on their company for the same result.

But if they were really sick why was there a need to graduate?
Stella was an indie before.
She could have just taken a vacation from streaming until she recovered and streamed occasionally.
The graduations hints at another company wanting to have proper contracts without issues from a previous contract or channel.
