If a vtuber were to belittle and despise her audience behind the scenes and is just putting on a facade when streaming, I would consider that betrayal. Obviously, to some extend anybody is playing a role when streaming but there is a difference between exaggerating aspects of your personality for entertainment, and deliberately manipulating your audience while thinking of them as just dumb walking ATMs to be exploited.

The consensus I've gotten from the Kronies on general is that the words were able to smooth things over with her actual viewers. Her memberships and recent superchats suggest that people do in fact care about her. It's possible that she was able to filter out the most obnoxious schizos from both ends her fanbase by going the centrist route and emphasizing civility over consensus. It remains to be seen how this nothingburger affects her future but I'd wager it has little to no effect.

The only thing that kept me going for a while was tuning into this random JP indies stream everyday and just having her say "Hello" back to me, just having my existance acknoledged was enough for me to feel like I had a friend. The experience isn't fake, they are real, genuine emotions that you feel. It doesn't even have to be recipocated.
