How do I like rust more?
I'm having a lot of trouble watching the stream since the game seems really boring to me.
Kanata makes it bearable to watch, and the cute sounds and reactions are nice, but the downtime between all that gets me really bored and distracted.

I like the pace of streams like this, but I can understand why people might find it boring. If it's just not your thing, I don't think there's much you can do, aside from perhaps picking up the game yourself and seeing if that changes how you feel about it. Or maybe just do something else and leave it as background noise so you can tune in when some action starts happening.

It's a shitty game, you can't force yourself.
But Kanata is still a beginner, not to shill but you could look at an advanced player like Pekora's, I find her rust pretty fun from a gameplay perspective.
Otherwise during downtime I just keep her on in the background while I do other things.

It's hard to get into, it's a slow game for Kanata but her interactions with others are nice. I personally think it sucks no matter who's playing it, there's a reason people do 8 hour streams where nothing is going on. The way I see it Holorust itself is a fad that chases the popularity of streamer servers while having none of their appeal - but that's probably the reason why players like Kanata can thrive on it. I can't fault the viewers unfamiliar with the game for being bored but at least it makes the girls happy and brings lots of views. Funny how it got crossed with Holosummer with all the bikini thumbnails, probably boosts the popularity across the board.

I still can't tell if the post game part of the stream is primarily supposed to be superchat reading or zatsudan. Either way, it's really not sustainable at her current pace, for every superchat backlog stream she catches up to 3 more get added, really hope we don't have another 20+ stream backlog for superchat reading like June.

I'll assume you don't watch her streams. She's talked about this several times (and in her rm account too). She hasn't completely given up on that style, but she started trying something different because she feels that she can't sing the same way she used to. The disease itself plus spending years on the cusp of quitting, not practicing properly and not taking care of herself did a number on her, both physically and in terms of her confidence. I wish she'd do more stuff like that too, but I can't really blame her.
